OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Diannep- thinking alot of Brett and his sweet family today. Lifiting Him and his loved ones up today. God is our ultimate healer and His plans are perfect! Keep us updated! This story shows us the real sacrifice that our Sailors and military make everyday... not just overseas, but everyday...May God be with them all! xoxo

Many prayers for Brett and his family. Servicemen/women are the most selfless people I have ever met. I hope he makes a full recovery.

My brother is Ship 9, Div 3 I hadn't heard anything from him regarding moving... There shouldn't be any shift in the PIR date correct?

Comment by martiheg on October 18, 2012 at 10:29am

OMGosh, I got teary-eyed reading about Brett. My heart, my thoughts and my prayers go out to his family. But SO glad to hear he's more than half-way through the critical period! With seven N4M groups involved, I figure there should be a prayer a minute being said to guide him through the next half.

Prayers being said for Brett and his family.

LOTS and LOTS of prayers headed his way Diannep!! That was a very heroic and Selfless thing for him to do. Praying for healing and strength for his family in all this. please keep us all updated!

Good Morning Ladies!

Comment by diannep on October 18, 2012 at 8:03am

Update on our sailor friend Brett:  Surgery completed about 1a.m.  Bullet went under ribcage and hit aorta...sigh...massive bleeding...transfusion...next 8 hours are critical for his survival (it was 15 hours but he has made it through 7 already).  Dr said had he been older and not so fit (personal trainer in addition to Navy job), he would have died.  I told his mom that I have 7 N4Moms groups praying for him...she is so grateful for that, ladies.  They are a strong Christian family....so keep those prayers going.  Thanks so much!

Dina....Brett truly is a hero...he enlisted in Spec Ops, as a rescue swimmer, but due to being 30 at the time, felt he was "over the hill!"  So switched ratings.  But he is truly a self-less guy...putting others first.  My guess is that this was a lady who had been in his bootcamp class who was attacked....and he is fiercely protective of "his" ladies...!  He is a survivor....

Since he gave you an actual date, you may have just been the first to hear. :)

We have been hearing "rumblings" of some shifting in the PIR at the end of November too. It could be some consolidating for ease etc, since the PIR group on 11/30 is the largest we've seen with 15 divisions and they are "gearing" up for the holidays. Maybe trying to get those incoming divisions in closer quarters.

Mind you this is pretty much a guess on my part at this point. As more info starts coming in we may get a clearer picture. I'll keep watching!
