Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Well it's been great chatting with the Mom's in this group, but unfortunately we got a disappointing letter in the mail today, looks like our Kiddo is being pushed back for not passing the "float" test. So I guess I'm gonna have to try and find the group for what she is saying should be her new graduation date. She said December 5th but I looked on the bootcamp website and it looks like she probably meant to say the 4th. Now she will also still be in Bootcamp for her Birthday December 2nd. It's also gonna cost us quite a bit to change our plane tickets, we didn't buy flex tickets to begin with because they where very expensive. But guess it is what it is.....sigh.

*he can ask for a small Bible up there as they will give him one

Comment by diannep on October 29, 2015 at 8:23am

myhope:  They are on "hold" on the weekends with the training week/day count.  So.....if he was on 1-3 on Friday....then he would be holding on that number until Monday when he would be 1-4.

So great that he is asking for the scripture encouragement!  Does he have a small Bible with him?  He is allowed to have that and he can ask for one if he doesn't have one.

Good Morning All!

Tabitha, my son is Ship 03 Div 012 and we got a call on Saturday. He said things are going great. I believe he said that Saturday was day 1 of week 4 (Hell week), so they have lots of inspections and tests on what they have been learning. I think things are really starting to feel pretty normal for him at least. I know it's a new normal for us as parents. He did ask for us to continue sending him scripture and inspirational quotes and said "it really helps". So, I started sending him small slips of card stock with scripture or inspirational Navy quotes on them to slip into his pocket or wallet or even share with other SRs. Hopefully, you'll hear something from your SR soon.
