N4M's Community Guidelines
and
OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

Alex'sMom,

Don't forget the cell phone charger, laptop, ac adapter, own comfy underwear, maybe some favorite snacks from your area.  All this can go into your SR's Navy issued black backpack!

Also, bring a set of comfy clothes for him to wear in your hotel room only after his anticipated long private shower too~~  :)

Talked to my recruit this morning (Ship 03,  Div 011). He's headed to Goose Creek for Nuke School. He said he will be shipped out early Saturday morning... I was hoping for more time :( Oh well, we'll make the best of it. He also said I needed to meet him at the airport because he could not take his cell phone back on base after liberty on Friday so the only way he can take it to school is if I meet him at the airport--I was planning on doing that anyway, just didnt know about the phone.

Austin'sMom, I added a new page in the "PAGES" about the flags that can be earned while in BC.

The pages are located on the right side of this page under the member icons.

My daughter is going to A school in Texas, she said she will be shipped out early Saturday morning :( we were hoping for more time with her

So if they aren't at Great Lakes for A school, they still get Liberty too? My kiddo is supposed to be going to Pensacola for A school. I'm hoping we will have a little free time with her.

Bikerchica:  Yep, GL A School sailors have daytime Liberty through the weekend...returning to base each night.  They move over there right after PIR is over so you have to sacrifice some hours on that day, picking them up later in the afternoon over there, but worth it!

Not sure if this mentions that Hall of Fame flag but if so, they phased that out earlier this month.

Finally got to talk to my son and he sounds great. He is going to go ahead and get pictures himself and then send them to me . He is staying in GL after PIR and said he should have Liberty during the weekend. He is a flag holder so he said he will be up front at the PIR. Hope everyone is having a great day

I got my call also. Ship 3 doc 12. He sounded great! Very calm and finally gave details. He said they have earned a flag and they have a lot of lead position. They are working out a lot, but he likes that. They are now getting into learning everything for the "big test" Hope more of you get calls... They help so much!!! I'm going to be on cloud 9 all day !!!
