My son is pretty happy with his roommate (they were buddies in bootcamp), it's nice being ableto communicate with him all the time now, he said he is starting to get his watch quals out of the way today so he can phase up faster (whatever all that means, lol). He did say he will know for sure on Monday what days he can come home for the holidays, plane tickets are very expensive.
Thanks Tiffani. That's a good one. How are you doing? I've been communicating with my girl - it's making us both home sick for each other - but she's doing well, exploring the area and settling in. Still not feeling totally well but has time to get some extra rest for now. I'm so hoping she'll be able to come home if even for a few days...

Good reminders FTLW. We can't afford to get too lax....
My sailor just informed me she may NOT get home for the holidays. They have 3 phases to go through and it may not happen in time. I'm not getting my hopes up but keeping my fingers tightly crossed. Just a heads up for those with sailors in similar positions.....
Glad to see you all getting home safe and communicating with your SAILORS! Please don't rake the post below the wrong way...just trying to watch out for y'all!
Hope you all keep in touch with each other!

POST-REMINDER FOR OPSEC AND COMMUNITY GUIDELINES FOR N4M’S
This is not a correction, you haven't done ANYTHING wrong...just a reminder. I have been catching posts on past PIR groups that break OPSEC.
As far as OPSEC and the N4M's Community Guidelines...they still stand. They always will. In boot we advise about linking up with your recruit because the RDC's read these posts...it is a building block for the future of the Sailor and his family. A lot of the "focus" is on BC and this...but it is meant to be carried on for the duration of your Sailors career and is a very serious matter. You can jeopardize your safety and your Sailors by breaking OPSEC. Not to mention that I am sure there are punishments for it. Posting email addresses is better done privately. You may post the month of movement (ships or people) but not specific dates. You may post the ship they are on but not where it is going specifically...such as city and dates. When deployed you may post the country but not exact locations, units, camps...when in doubt less is better. General statements not specifics. I know they are in "A" school but again these are building blocks to lay the foundation for when they are out in fleet. When my husband was deployed he could not tell me the specific date he was coming home (emailed it in code to me), I could only tell people "sometime in July".
Please review the Community Guidelines again and OPSEC.
I am not trying to be a pill...these are very important and a serious matter...just trying to look out for your Sailors and you.
Thank you,
FTLW
macraroni2: My daughter is in P'cola, too. She didn't have her address as of today but said she'd have that info on Monday. Hope that helps. She just arrived Friday evening.
Hello, did anyone get the address to A-school in Pensacola? The address was texted to me, but there isn't a building/barracks/ship number.
I let my son's girlfriend and her family have him on Friday and today as she has to head back to college tomorrow and they won't see each other until Christmas. We will get him again tomorrow and be able to see him on weekends while he's at GL. When he gets Phase 3 liberty, he will even be able to spend the night here over weekends!! Watched TOY STORY 3 tonight....big mistake.....cried at the end again.
