Cheryl...your comments about the laundry brought a smile to my face.  Regarding her going to church....last Sunday afternoon, I asked my husband if he thought our son had gone to chapel.  He said "I guarantee 100% he went.  And I guarantee most of the rest of his division went as well"  He did mention in his letter that he went but said "ours was better"  meaning our church here at home but that he would probably keep going.

No letter again today! :( totally bummed!!

I know it doesn't substitute for missing them, but what worked for me when mine was there was remembering this:

He was safe, he was eating well, he was sleeping well, he was exercising and studying alot, he was being mentored (yes, and being yelled at too...all part of it!). he was not on the roads, out late at night, he was not spending money, he was in a very controlled atmosphere where we would be made aware if something was wrong.  That gave me peace....

@Jenn/silkoutwest/watson: I was feeling the same as you the other day.  Was waking up in the wee hours worried sick, missing her, wondering when I was going to hear anything.  Feeling empty and blue.  The letters were an incredible pick-me-up. I'm sure the feeling comes and goes, and Im glad Im not feeling that was feeling this way.  I hope you are all having a very UP day today!!

Tiffani- I am so glad your SRs fiance received her letter!!!  And how adorable is it that she received 16 sweet pages!  Im sure that made her feel incredibly special!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day today!!  ((((HUGS)))) to each of you!

Hello, everyone!!  I was so incredibly busy yesterday and not able to get on here and check out how each of you are doing.  We got our letters Thursday after work!!!!  We received three and her fiance also received three!!  My husband and I read ours out loud together (I laughed and cried the entire time!!), then Cbs man (who also a member on here... however silent  :-) and I took turns reading ours together and enjoyed the laughs and tears.  LAUGH..... TALK ABOUT CARMA... her job is Laundry PO... another HUGE LAUGH... she NEVER did much laundry growing up. Mostly piles of wrinkled clothes everywhere in her, and when she needed something it would go in thr dryer to remove the wrinkles. Now she is stuck doing laundry for 80 girls every day!!! Hillarious!!!  She sounded down yet had her upside points, too.  That was a relief.  She is back in church again which makes me happy.  I've been carrying my letters around with me to read over and over anytime I'm missing her- which I have done over and over!

Sister:  Ship 4 address is:

3600 Ohio St

Great Lakes, IL  60088-7103

I noticed on my son's return address on his letters when he was there that sometimes the zip code was different.  The letters will get to them so I wouldn't worry.

SisterT.....my son is in the same division as your brother and yes I noticed the return address was different.  Use the address you were given in the form letter.  I assume there is a reason why they used a different return address but there are numerous resources I've seen that all show the address for mail to our recruits should be in the format we received in our form letters.  Congrats on the first letter....now looking forward to the next and the next and the next....

Could someone maybe answer a question for me? We have been writing my brother letters almost daily and sending them to the address given in the Form Letter we first received, we got his first "real letter" yesterday and the return address was different. He is in Ship 4 Div 801...but the return address he used was Arleigh Burke Div 801 with a totally different street address...I know that is the name of Ship 4, but the street address being different is the problem. Has anyone else noticed this...Was wondering really which address will get him the letters,,,Thanks in advance for all the help.
