Good morning, everyone.  Hope this is a good day to get letters and maybe calls!

LOL AZK my daughter left here with her BF here and I have NEVER not one day of my life liked him... However they had been together for 2 years and a month before she left he "broke" up with her and then still obsessively still called texted and they still saw each other... After she left he texted me asking for a address... I waited a week or better then against my better judgement I texted it back to him. Not once has he ever said thank you or shut up or nothing. I hope his phone is off and he never got it! But I was the bigger person and gave it to him anyway. I pray that after my daughter has been to boot camp she will open her eyes to see what a loser he is.

ok Rant over :)

Have a blessed day! I hope for a letter today!

That makes sense about the "stick". My son is, in all likelihood, the shortest in his division. :)  I asked him in a letter how the jobs were chosen; randomly, by volunteering for them, as a punishment, etc.  I'll see what his response is.  I did one of the questionnaires also.  I looked through a few of them above and kind of tweaked them to make them more personal.  I'm looking forward to its return!  On a totally different subject here.....I am dealing with ex-girlfriend drama here. Ex GF has been ex for a long time but in my son's mind (not wanting to hurt her feelings) they are still friends.  Ex takes this as a "sign" that there is still hope.  Current and serious GF (from his college in a different state), has asked me for advice saying Ex is constantly messaging/texting etc. wanting info.  Ex has joined the FB RTC page after she saw that current GF joined it.  Ex is sending him letters every day and posting messages on his FB nearly daily.  Current is very busy with school and can't write obsessively. Ex got letter yesterday (because she lives closer) and "loudly" proclaimed it on FB yesterday.  Current is dealing with it very well and maturely (hence why she is current and not ex!!). My husband is already planning on the "man to man" discussion about this over Thanksgiving.  Not fair to either girl, etc.  He needs to man up and let ex know that she needs to move on.  She also messages/texts me a lot as well about when he'll be home, grad, etc.  I am trying to stay out of it as much as possible but I will "discourage" any attempt to see him over Thanksgiving.

Okay....rant over :)

You can find word searches online by doing a search for them and then when you find one just click on print and print page. That should work :-)

I didn't get my letter on Wednesday hoping for one tomorrow or Friday! I did however get that phone call for about 30 minutes and she also mentioned being a stick! I found out from my sister that it means the shortest in the company carries the stick (flag) front and center! Meg also said that RDC was kinda mean but not nearly as mean as the others were... I wonder if 007 & 008 have the same RDC? I am axious to get a letter! I need to write her and wish I could throw in a word search but I dont be talented enough like that! I too have also printed out pictures and sent them with the letters. I titled pages like sister, friends, mom's family, dad's family then added pictures it turned out really awesome. I got my flight, car, and hotel booked! Praying everything goes according to how it's planned! Now just still gotta convince my boss that I have to take off.... Lord have mercy!!!

Flights booked....except my return flight. Not sure if I'm leaving late Friday or midday Saturday :-/

Car booked....good deal for one that'll suit the 5 of us.

The ex and my boys love the T-day dinner with Navy families idea. They'll leave Friday afternoon from Milwaukee rather than Midway as I'm flying in and out of due to the rental car being easier to deal with there.....

Whew! My head hurts. But it feels good to see the important stuff settling in.

Now, who will watch my dog while we're gone? :-/

Sweet dreams everyone. I'm off to write a note, tuck in a silly wordsearch, and hit the sack....

It is so good to read that so many are getting letters. Tomorrow should be another good day for letters :-)

The questionnaires are pretty awesome! You guys should print them out and send them along with your letters, the responses I got back from him are pretty darn funny
Comment by Diana(PO3/IT3) on October 19, 2011 at 9:48pm
Yea Jenn!  Sounds like good news. Like you, I was a bit pouty when I didn't detect a lot of missing home......Double edged sword....you want them to miss you but you don't want to hear they are suffering.  A didn't mention her being in a mixed gender division but aren't they in the same one?? 007? She did say they had to wait a day or so because there weren't enough girls in her division so maybe that's it. Wonder if they've "spoken" yet and know their moms have met and are scheming PIR activities...? lol
Comment by ABH Mom (Tiffani) on October 19, 2011 at 9:45pm
Woohoo!  So happy for you too Jenn, BTW I would probably bet that my son was one of the ones that passed out, LOL.  My son also said that PT is really easy, but like I've said he was a wrestler in high school and I really think that prepared him pretty good, running up and down bleachers with guys on your back is probably pretty hard.
