Wow. That's a fantastic price Kendra! Where are you flying in from? Where are you staying? Which airport? What internet site did you find?
I've already got the hotel/Navy Lodge. Can't beat the $65/night, no tax, complete kitchen deal only 1.3 miles from the training center.... I found a decent car rental from Milwaukee for 6 days under $250 all included - less than that if we're only there for 4 days.
Flights - still struggling with. Cheapest so far is with Southwest, $1700 for 4 people roundtrip: nonstop out there, one stop back. Could go a bit cheaper but we'd be flying out at 6am and we have an hour +30/45 minutes IF traffic cooperates to get to the airport.....gotta add dropping off the car in the pay lot and shuttling to the terminal. I'm thinking I'd rather leave at a "Godly" hour and pay the difference. The down side to that is arriving at Milwaukee at 12:50am...which means a possible icy drive south to Great Lakes. I'm about ready to throw in the towel and say DONE! Hmmm, maybe Oprah will loan me her chauffer while we're up there.........
Oh and I see LaLa is on here..Great ribbons!!!!!
Hi all.. I am not a PIR mom but my son PIR'd on 2/11/11 and I was looking though N4m for memories and thought I would pop in to say hi and offer any advice or questions you may have....
My son was 804 in BC so I can help more in that area but general questions are welcomed as well...
Our group did a really cool scarf thing for PIR.. if you are all interested let me know and I can share it with you..
We had some great mentors when we had our group for BC,, Not sure if they are still around.. Arwen, Jessica and Lynne, they were lifesavers for us.
Hang in there,,
