Yah for the early calls today! That sometimes happens when they come in the day before PIR. Hope that 008/801 are coming in soon too!
According to RTC FB, 007 IS CALLING!!!!!! Not my division but I am still in tears!! Congratulations to all!
Congratulations Diana...that's awesome!!! Something to consider, I read somewhere that you may want to still sit in the area designated for your division as it will have the best viewing opportunity for your particular sailor. Maybe one of the veteran moms can respond about that?? I'm sure you'll "check it out" tomorrow for the best picture taking!!!
I received a letter saying my SR will be receiving an award and that we will be escorted to a special seating area tomorrow - BUT I don't see her name on the Honor Graduate list?? Uh oh........wonder what's up with that..... Anxiously awaiting THE call........
ProudMom - a warm, comforting hug for you. No doubt you both are disaapointed to say the least. I hope you'll find comfort in knowing he WILL continue on this noble journey in his own due time. We'll hold you both in spirit tomororw. Please keep us posted and....maybe we'll see you in P'cola!
So ladies - I'm HERE! Cool and drizzly. Waiting for my son to get out of the shower so we can scout things out. The Navy Lodge folks are wonderful. Very quiet here - for now. LOL
Spoke to Sarge this morning and got directions to the Meet and Greet from the NL. It's about a 10 minute drive. He will speak to us around 8:15/8:30. Pasta will be out at 6ish for early eaters. The rest will come out around 7ish. Those staying at the NL - we can follow each other over or call me and I'll give you the directions.(Ask to call Diana from California's room - I'll tell the front desk that is what some people may say to find me. I'm on the second floor also.....) Seems simple enough although getting here from Midway late at night was a doooooooooozy! I will never complain about California highways again!
Funny story - my son was the "navigator".....he had us ALL turned around. What oh what do they teach kids in school nowadays??? Obviously NOT map reading!!
So excited to see some of you at Sarges tonight! Drive safely........
Thanks AZK and diannep. We are heading to the airport shortly. Going to be a pretty hairy trip just to get to the airport, lots of flooding on the roads. Luckily we are leaving waaay ahead of time to get there. Can't wait to meet all of you, see you tonight at Sarge's meet and greet!
Tiffani: Great that you changed that cellphone greeting to greet your sailor if you are in the air when you get the call. Hope others do the same thing!
Safe travel, lots of hugs, and Happy Thanksgiving to this group!
"I'm a Sailor" calls could come in a bit earlier today since it is the day before PIR...phones ready all day just in case!
Diana, I think I may have already posted this to you (sorry...can't remember) but be sure to add "Alumni of" to this group title after PIR, whenever you are on the site again. You all are then N4Moms veterans and welcome to join our ranks to help out on here anytime you like!
Also, please be sure to correct us N4M veterans on any misinformation we may have given (i.e., changed procedures). We rely on you all to tweak our info. Thanks, ladies.
Enjoy enjoy enjoy! And even though you all are a very small group, remember to be at PIR early for choice of seating, camera testing, and enjoyment. Remember, sometimes your new sailors will use the bathrooms in the drill hall BEFORE PIR....so it is a good place to try and catch a brief visit!
So proud of the sailors of PIR 11/23 (and by this time, they all should be sailors!). HOOYAH!
Good morning all!! So happy for our 902 moms!! I slept on our couch last night with a blue candle burning (well lightly dozed, actually). Have fun today ladies with your phone calls and safe travels to all of you who are traveling today and "Welcome to the Midwest" to those of you who traveled yesterday!!! Tomorrow at this time, we all will be getting ready in the dark of the morning to head over to Great Lakes!!!! HOOYAH!!!
Well I finally have finished packing, boarding the plane tomorrow morning. I switched my voicemail greeting on my cell phone so it is speaking directly to my son, I have a feeling that I will be in the air since I fly out at 10:20 PST and get to Chicago at 4:20 CST, would love to get that call though
