OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". For those renting a car:  Be sure to have the rental agreement in the car when you arrive on base.

Comment by Diana(PO3/IT3) on November 20, 2011 at 7:27pm

Ah yes...thanks for the insurance card reminder Tiffani. Something I don't normally carry around......

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH....still not packed!!!  Cold, cloudy and threatening rain here....

Comment by ABH Mom (Tiffani) on November 20, 2011 at 7:04pm

Thanks Diana!  That's a good idea, not that I will get teary eyed or anything, lol.  Another to remember is your insurance card if you are renting a car.

WONDERFUL that the scouts were found!

Diana, you all are so very welcome.  We would love to welcome any of you new N4Moms veterans into our ranks of helping out on this site.  Any time!  And...please post on here if any of our info was inaccurate.  My son PIRed in early 2010, and the rest of our group...Lala, Sandy, Betsy...had PIR later in 2010...and we know that the Navy is all about CHANGE...so if our info needs to be tweaked a little, please post on here so we can revise it.  Thanks so much!

For those traveling tomorrow, safe travel and enjoy!

Oh, one more thing to pack Ladies - a handkerchief, or 2 or 3, in the pocket of your coats......kleenex shreds and make a mess ;-)

Comment by Diana(PO3/IT3) on November 20, 2011 at 12:48pm

Regarding the Capt. Cup: on the Facebook site for the RTC, they just posted today that they are having trouble getting the info and it may be tomorrow yet. Here is the cut and pasted message:

U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command I haven't been able to get through to anyone so unless anyone hears from their recruits in those divisions today, the news will have to wait until tomorrow.

Comment by Diana(PO3/IT3) on November 20, 2011 at 12:27pm

Great news on finding the boy scouts. I'm sure you are feeling much better LaLa. Scary...

Thanks for the BS updates diannep. I most likely will be in the air when my new Sailor makes the call so.......I've changed my voicemail message to directly to address and congratulate her and let her know I'm on my way up and will see her very soon.

navywife: I'm sure you will look just stunning in your red sweater dress! I'm just going for the classic black/gray pants and sweater/peacoat with the red scarf. It's just easier to pack things that go with everything else for me. A bit on the boring side but at the wee hours that we need to get up and ready for PIR, it takes the guesswork out of what to put on. If I grab the wrong thing, it won't matter - it all works. haha Besides, I haven't quite lost all the weight I promised my SR I would while she was gone and I refuse to buy a size up in clothes and black hides a lot....  :-/

FTLW, diannep, LaLa and all the other vet moms who have been daily posting with information, encouragement, and love - THANK YOU so much for guiding us through this process! You all have been Godsends.... I will be thinking of you this whole trip - and hoping I can pass just a smidgen support along to the moms who are coming up behind us in this wonderful journey for not only their children but for the moms as well. This has been an incredible growing experience on my end - and my sons - as my daughter continues to prepare her Life's path on such a noble journey. And thanks to the rest of you on here, many of whom I hope to hug in just a few short days, for your openness and encouragement and great sense of humor!
