About the bunkmate thing: I KNOW! Half a dozen people I've mentioned it to said they would have written him little notes and things. I did write the poor guy a letter to take with him to his next stage in training, wherever that may be.

I'm not only excited to see Matt, but I'm also excited to see some of the people he's mentioned in letters! I enjoy having a face to go with a name; obviously until this point it's not quite possible. :P

TJL...so happy for you!  Which picture, which recruit?  I looked through them all already, too.

@TJL, that's so cool.  Glad you got to see a picture.

Pictures of today's PIR includes pics of 902!  I screamed to see my SR!  Happy Dance!

Right now I am making "Thor's" favorite cookies to take to him next week....oatmeal craisin.

RKproudmom's son is Zeus...so, in that same 801 spirit, my son's girlfriend and I are referring to my son as Thor on these forums/FB pages :)

You know how it rains right after you wash your car or hang clothes out on the line....maybe if we all "forget" lint rollers, they will definitely be in their blues!!  hahaha

Here is a link of what they will be doing in Captains Cup:

http://www1.netc.navy.mil/nstc/news_page_2011_02_26.asp

I don't believe all of them actually "compete"....some are the cheer team!

Cheryl, you are very welcome!  FTLW, Lala, Betsy, Sandy and I love helping the "newbies" through.  So glad that your journey is almost at its end, and a new chapter beginning for your almost-sailors...one where you will be in contact again!  HOOYAH!

I can't believe that the clock shows 4 days up there, WOW (okay I know its 4 days 18 hours but...).

I really hope I will not be in the air when my SR calls.  But pretty good chance that I will be since it's a non stop flight from Portland and we leave at 10:20 pacific time.  Oh well I think my husband will get the call then :-)

Captains cup tomorrow, wonder what my SR will be doing in there.  He only wrestled during school.  He probably will have something to do with running, lol.  Afraid for our division if he is doing volleyball, lol.

Someone replied on facebook that he saw division 007 practicing, he said they looked good.

Can't wait to meet all of you.  And Jenn I don't think you will forget Aloha especially with all of us reminding you, LOL

I sent CB one last letter to BC.... FedEx Priority for Saturday delivery tomorrow (I must be crazy????!!!).  Let her know we would be flying into Ohare at 3:00pm Tuesday and to call my cell for the "Im a Sailor" call!!!

@Jenn- thanks for the lint roller reminder!!!

AZK - You're right - they had been talking for a few weeks on the RTC FB page about wearing PB's for graduation and that the 11/18 PIR group was going to wear them too.  I was wondering if I had read that wrong when I saw the pictures from today.  Seems like they got the issue resloved.  Thanks Kendra for letting us all know.  I know that my kiddo really wanted me to see him in the dress blues - he felt like a real sailor in them so I'm glad that I'll get the chance.  Don't forget a lint brush and a tide pen when you go out.  Those blue uniforms pick up every bit of dust, hair and whatnot floating around and laying on car seats (I remember my ex obsessivly roller brushing his uniforms befor walking to his ship).

I wonder what he will compete in for Captain's Cup - he didn't really have a sport that he excelled at.  I wonder if they have comptetitive xbox playing - he would kick butt doing that!

I leave in 4 more days!!!!  (With Alohagirl - I'm not forgetting her!)  I cannot wait - but I do think I will be in the air when the I'm a Sailor calls go out.  In my last letter to him I told him to be sure to call my cell - he knows to call me at the office during the day and I just don't think he would think about the fact that I would be travelling - and to leave me a message!  The timing MAY work out so that I will have landed or I may be on the layover - but I just don't know.

ACK - so excited!!!
