@Kendra- Did you get a call from Meg yesterday? If yes, I wonder if CB had duty during call time? I want to hear my baby girl, too!! :-)
@diannep/FTLW- BTW, thanks so very much for all your guidance and knowledge over these weeks. You have both truly been such a blessing for me!!!
And to all my N4M friends- Can you believe it..... we are almost there!!!
Of corse we still have to wait for that "Im a Sailor" call!!! I forget who's post I saw this from today (or yesterday???) who said they realized they might be in the air during that call..... YIKES! I didn't think about that!!! I hope that doesn't happen.... with YOU OR ME!!
I've seen the uniform issue discussed a lot on the RTC FB page. I was pretty sure I even saw members of the 11/18 group saying they had heard they would be wearing peanut butters but today's grad photos have them in dress blues! At one point, a few weeks ago RTC posted that there would be a formal announcement regarding the uniforms soon. There has been no announcement yet. I also thought I remembered RTC replying, very recently, to a question about this that there has been no announcement yet because there was nothing to announce (or something like that). Sooooooooooo....maybe, just maybe, our kids will be in their dress blues!! Though, as others have said, I'll take him anyway I can get him and the emotion I feel when he comes through those doors will not be any different because of what they are wearing. So Close Now!
@Jo- I'm sorry I didn't see your message until now... That's awful your fiance's bunkmate didn't get any mail! :-(
@ProudMom- I have'nt received a call that CB has passed her PFT, but I'm confident she did. If she calls I will be sure to ask her if everyone in her division passed.
It may be true that girls write more letters than they guys... I have received 2-3 letters a week since they could start writing on Tuesdays and Thursdays also... I don't think my daughter has written so many in her ENTIRE life (but I sure am thankful :-)!! She told me before she left "now remember Mom, no news is good news", so I wasn't expecting much from her :-).
She sounds very upbeat and incredibly appreciative of her life and family. Her letters have brought me tears several times over the last 7 weeks. She definitely is feeling more confident and proud of herself. Said she has done things in the last weeks that she never thought possible before now. She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her new uniforms (even the Peanut Butters-PBs)! Says they look incredibly sharp and can't wait for us to see her transformation! She is not thrilled that they are graduating in their PBs, but at this point she won't complain... and will be happy just to be graduating at all!!
Can't wait to hear what sport she will be competing in during Captains Cup tomorrow!! @Kendra- Maybe volleyball with Meg??
@Aloha/Jenn- be sure to get someone to take your picture together before your get on the road, to highlight your adventure to PIR (I want a copy)!!! @FTLW- that driving smiley was hilarious!!
Oh Jo - I am so sorry for your fiance's bunkmate. I had told my son to let me know about anyone not getting mail because I would write them and he never gave me any names. How sad!! I wish I had known.
LOL - I totally agree with you AZK! Girls must write more than boys - I'm not complaining - but I get my one a week which I'm happy for. I did have a week where I got 3, but I think that totally wore him out - I'm back to one. :) My son was like your's dianne - he told me he would "try" to write - so getting any mail was good.
FTLW!! You crack me up!!
Proudmom, they are supposed to be forwarded to A school. But, diannep has always told everyone to make copies of the letters, so that if by chance they do not receive them, you will still have the copies to give them.
AHHHH!!! I need sleep!!! Getting the little kids of to school then its bed time! Have a blessed day my friends!!
Diana: Thanks for confirming the BS date!
