@lorriemi: How many of you? Are you staying at the Navy Lodge as well?
can we stay for thanksgiving dinner pir23nov div 801
LaLa.....I'm not sure if I replied to you about our ribbons. I'm losing track between messages on this board, discussions on this board and Facebook messages and the forums on the RTC FB page. But anyway.....I got our ribbons and we LOVE them! I sent one to my son's girlfriend at college and she has it by a blue candle I improvised for her since she can't burn candles in her dorm. She sent me a picture of them to my Facebook page. Thank you Lala; can't wait for the 6 of us to put them on in less than 2 weeks!
Just a note...there will be appetizers at the Ramada's as well, and there is a restaurant there for those wanting dinner. Can't wait to hear how Sarge's MeetNGreet is. He sounds like a great guy and sure is helpful to the PIR families!
I'm just going to the Sarge M&G also, one is enough, :-)
Thanks Tiffani. I'm okay whatever happens. She is doing well and is not regretting her decision. That's all that matters to me right now.
Just reviewed Sarges M and G info and looked at the map. It seems closer than going to the Ramada. I'm not sure I'll want to do both especially since weather driving at night could be iffy and we have a way early morning. I'm foregoing the Ramada one and will go to Sarges. Besides, I'll have my ex and our boys. Sarge's feels like a place they'll like because it's roomy and has FOOD! lol
Ladies staying at the Navy Lodge - night time toddies in my room before we retire still ;-)
@Diana, I'm sure you can add things on, if you go to the boston market website, go to catering, you can see the holiday ordering information.
I'm sure your daughter was just really hard on herself, most of us are.
Latest dinner count update:
Diana (me) - 5
Jenn - 2
Tiffani - 3
sjs1221 - 8 - 10
Alohagirl - 3
23 total. Still fitting in the 2 full dinner meals @$89.99 each meal.
QUESTION OF THE DAY: Do we up it to include one more dinner?? I wonder if Boston Market has add ons without ordering a full on meal?
Oh, and WELCOME RCPO!!! Sorry to hear your bootcamp experience was interrupted. I hope things balance out so you can continue this wonderful journey. My SR was not in your group but I'm all ears anyway. :-)
LaLa: no ribbons in my today's mail. Maybe tomorrow!
Yea for jeans and boots......now, if I can find a cool new pair of jeans that will flatter my arse, I'll be happy :-/ In any event, warm and comfy capture the week...
AKZ: haven't checked the other site yet. Will in a bit.
As for the Meet and Greets, I'm not partial to either. But I would like to go where most of you all will go. Where is Sarge's??? I guess I should go check that site out and add it to my info packet. I've printed out mapquest maps for all kinds of from here to theres.........
Jenn: I'm not sure how many more dinners to order. It goes in batches of 12. I'd hate to be stuck with too much just in case things get hairy and we don't end up with the kind of time we thought we would on Thanksgiving Day. Right now, 2 full dinner meals seems to be working out.
As for bringing extra Sailors to our T-day feast, I thought we had to apply for taking out Sailors who aren't in our family? From all I read, we can't just pick some up with our Sailors that day without some kind of involved process. And, the ones who can leave are the kids who PIR after ours. Those in our PIR group will go to local groups if they have no families at graduation. All that is confusing to me........
Happy to hear 007 is getting some flags!! Woooohooooo! My SR's last letter said things were coming together division wise. As for her interview for the award, her take was it went badly and she felt she goofed up royally - was so nervous. She gives talks to hundreds of people a day with the park service and choked in front of a mere handful of people. I'm hoping she is just being too hard on herself and it went better than she felt it did. Still, the fact she was nominated is just peachy with both of us.
Two weeks from right now we'll be WITH our new Sailors!!! And probably getting ready to head them back to base. Whew!! Time did fly.........
