My son mentioned to his girlfriend that there were lots of buttons on the dress blues lol

That is a shame about the dress blues, but I have a feeling that your SR's will be pretty comfortable during PIR.  My son always says that the Cracker Jack uniform is very uncomfortable.  So, if there is a bright side, that's it.  :)

Yes congrats to 008!  They seem to be doing pretty awesome.  @Diana, congrats on your daughters award, that is so wonderful.  My son also said they were wearing the khakis so I'm thinking all the divisions will be wearing them.  Getting pretty excited

Yay....congrats to 008!!  Glad you all are getting calls.  I wonder....will all 4 divisions be in their peanut butters?  I would imagine they would want all the divisions to be the same.  I, too, am disappointed to not see them in dress blues; but I'll take them any way we can get them!!!
Comment by navywife on November 6, 2011 at 6:54pm
I have to admit, I'm kind of disappointed to hear they aren't wearing the Cracker Jack uniforms.  I was looking forward to getting his picture in them.  I want to get a picture of him and his dad in uniform together too.

@ Diana: the peanut-butters are more professional, with khaki shirts & black/navy pants/skirts. With the contract being "out of order", some of the SR's didnt receive all components of their dress blues, so some will be shipped to A-school.
YES! the SR's of 008 are doing some wonderful things & getting rewarded accordingly. GOOD JOB!

Yea for phone calls. And that's great our daughters know each other Kendra! Did I share with you all my daughter was recommended for a special award? She goes before the board of chiefs this coming week to answer questions, etc. They only have 6 so this is pretty special. If she is awarded one, we get special seating. Big grin on this momma right now.....

I hope I get a call. My daughter has been opting to call her grandfather first dibs. He got a 15 minute call the first go around and I got the 30 second one which is all just fine by me. She and her grandpa are super close and his health hasn't been great lately so he won't be flying out with his.

What are 'peanut butters'??? Are those the brown uniforms? How silly to have a contract issue when the last bunches of PIRers wore their dress blues......goodness.....  Sounds like 008 division is wracking up and getting good treats these days. Bravo Zulu to them and you!

Hello Everyone! I'm so excited to hear from my SR today around 0400p EST. They finished the weapons training & they finalized their flag design. Most of them already ordered tshirts & sweatshirts! Well, we will be seeing them in their "peanut-butters" on PIR day, instead of the dress blues, due to some contract issue with the company that makes them. So we'll get a chance to see something a little different this time around. Take Care All & I pray that you all received a call!

I got a call!!!!! Wooooooohooooo!!!! Meg says their DIV did good so they got to go to the NEX and get candy!!!
@Diana Meg says Aubrey is so sweet and they are friends and going to FL together! She mentioned a few other last names I can't remember but over all 008 has gotten 3 flags!!! She still hasn't got to do her run due to the ankle sprain but she will!! I'm so happy I could bust!!! Best thing to wake up to!
