Hey, again, Lydia! Yep, ladies...Lydia described PIR very appropriately! It is THE BEST! And she is so right about hanging on to your possessions in the bleachers...because many times, they escape into the "big abysss"-- never to be seen again. So be very careful! Wouldn't be a good idea to drop young children through the bleachers either....ok, just kidding there! I'm sure you will hang on tight to them!
Yes, the exciting part for you all IS just beginning...the last couple of weeks of bootcamp are both nail-biting and exciting...for all on here! But once that" I'm a Sailor" call comes....wow....you are then on the TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN and will stay there for quite some time. It is truly a wonderful feeling!
Now....onward to becoming US NAVY SAILORS! Thanks, Lydia, for the inspiration!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW - yall are just about there... PIR right diannep... sheesh does time fly or what! Ill tell you... it will be the greatest day of your life if you are able to go!!!! Oh and the Meet n Greet! I made fast wonderful friends a year and half ago and we are still all together and talk every day! So just rememeber he/she who shouts the loudest when their Ship Div marches in those big ole doors........wins ahhahaha... you will holler like a kid on Christmas morning, you will cry like a new born baby, you will swell up with pride when you spot (don't forget the binoculars) your Sailor... oh yes you will!!!!!! OHHH footnote... please, when holding your camera and jumping up and down on the bleachers... Please place that strap AROUND you wrist... that will keep it from falling out of your sweatie hands and under the bleachers... justsayin... yup did that!!!!! Anyhooo just checking in on yall to say hi! Very exciting stuff.. Battlestations and all! So hang in there its almost over... !!!! Well, not really... really its just beginning right diannep! =0D
@Kendra- Ouch for Meg's ankle!! CB said she has been having trouble with her knee and finally had to go to medical. Found out she has a knee spur. Doc gave her ibuprofen and ice packs three times a day for the remainder of BC.
Received another letter from CB! Smile. She sounds good/upbeat for the most part. Says she has her moments still but she is doing good. She wants to get baptized while she is at BC- said she will wait a week for me to reply in case I want her to wait until she is back in our church in Virginia- I will let her know I WANT HER TO EXPERIENCE IT DURING BC IN GL WITH HER NEW NAVY FRIENDS )!!!! For you Moms that know my CBs name, PLEASE have your recruits to give her a HUUUUUUUUGE SPECIAL hug from her "Mommy" after her baptism. Laugh- she only calls me Mommy when she is emotional, so she will appreciate hearing that I am there through your sons and daughters :-) AZK- mayber your "Drummer" can play something special for her :-)
