FTLW...very helpful; thank you!
Navywife....yes, Z said the same thing, that he thought he'd be moving again soon. I know he's anxious to get "moving" again. The past few days without PT was making him crazy. He thought there'd be a lot of class and in-processing stuff this week but was hopeful he could at least work out or run on his own in the evening in some way.
Here's a little cheat sheet for what to put in front of there names.
E-1 is a Seaman Recruit or SR...Yes even after grad they are still a "recruit”.
E-2 is a Seaman Apprentice or SA
E-3 is a Seaman or SN.
Now, this also depends on their group.
There is:
Hospitalman - HR, HA, HN
Dentalman - DR, DA, DN
(I have not heard the above two used a lot but they were on the sites below- 2009 being the most recent that I could find)
Constructionman - CR, CA, CN
Airman - AR, AA, AN
Fireman - FR, FA, FN
navywife....I asked my sailor THREE times today if I should put anything in front of her name. She said, if you want.... :-/ So, I'm assuming from your post and it being she is newly out of bootcamp at A School (Corry Station though, not the air base) that I put SA Last, First as her title? Not SN? Or S something else......? Sheesh, there are moments I feel like I know more of what's going on than those 'kidlets' there.........
Jenn....the ex-girlfriend drama continued all through boot camp. We kept it from Thor because he didn't need that on his plate during that time. But I filled him in and gave him some advice. I think something has been said (which I'm sure he won't share with me) because there were definitely "angsty" FB statuses today.
And yes, we know how lucky we are to be able to have some weekend time these next few months. In fact, my husband works in Illinois not too far from there, so they are already planning on getting together for dinner every so often. I drove down early yesterday morning and brought him up to church yesterday! He was back at the drumset in uniform and received such a warm welcome from his church family. He was thrilled to be there!! And it was fun to surprise everyone.
Navywife...have you gotten an address? I didn't even think to ask Z for one. He said his roommate is heading to Coronado in January and he's not sure what his situation will be then.
I think I'm going to send a quick letter/note/card to make sure she gets it before I start shipping out the goods she is asking for.....
@Diana, that's awesome, C had to wrestle alot of girls during his high school career because of his weight classes, he always pinned them pretty quickly except one girl when he was a sophmore and she was senior, he just tech fell her, lol, she was super strong. And yes I believe that's what got him through the physical part of bootcamp with a breeze, lots and lots of wrestling conditioning. Oregon doesn't have many girl wrestlers.
C just gave me a street address and not a PMB#, so I text him and asked him again to make sure it's the right address.
Got A's address today. Seems to ordinary...nothing in front of her name - just her first and last name with a street address and a PMB# ----- Does that seem like the rest of yours?
Yes, A is feeling a LOT better. Thanks, all, for the concern. She texted me a cute pic of her in her camis. I was thrilled to see she is looking like her old self. As much as it stunk she couldn't enjoy more fun activities during her 2 day liberty, the mommy/rest time was much needed to turn that bug around. She was at the rec center last we communicated today.....sounds like life is settling in nicely for everyone. VERY happy to hear that...
@Tiffani: did you know that my A was a wrestler in high school also? The only girl on the team. She kicked butt for 3 years. Didn't win too many matches but rarely a guy could pin her. They worked for their win. Her last year (senior) she opted not to wrestle. Coaches from other schools asked for her and were disappointed she wasn't wrestling - which was a compliment to her. Needless to say, those years of conditioning helped her breeze through the PT portion of bootcamp. She is also hoping to get stationed in Washington at some point.
