Thanks everyone - much appreciated!!!  I knew I could count on my new Navy mom family. :)  I just love the little community we created here - I'll miss it when all our kids go on to different A schools.

FTLW - love the new profile pic by the way.  :)

Special extra prayers for your son Jenn!

I pray for all of your SR's. Mine struggled quite a bit. No DEP to prepare him. Three weeks and he was gone! I worried A LOT! Only got ONE letter and my Questionnaire near the end of BC when he had finally stopped being sick and passed his PFA. His div earned a couple of calls though. Each one was different...UP...down...etc. I was so thankful that he was in the first batch to go through BS21 and that call at 12:14 was the best day ever for him and us! I had planned to fly in on Tuesday (Thursday) PIR and the "ups and downs" continued! LOL In a good way though! He got extra liberty...was supposed to fly out Friday and extended until Sunday. The veteran moms (diannep, LaLa, Betsy, Sandy and Jessica especially...so honored to be able to "work" with them now!) had advised me to book until Sunday "just in case" if I could afford too...money and timewise. Hey, it's all the way across country...why not!?

His return time to base was different every night and he had watch on Friday from 4-6...return time 8 that night so we just went to base and ate at Ricky Heaven with him...don't care...I love being on military installations...it's fun for me! I'm a wife and a mom but techinically a "civilian" so I get a kick out of it.

I teased my boys and told them to make a run for it past the Chapel to see what would happen...then I told them the punishment for getting caught was that they got put in the newest division and had to go through BC.

I know...I'm just a riot.

There's geese on RTC...hmmmm wonder if they are there in the winter? Let me know!

@diannep: You haven't seen your son since nearly last year?! Oh my. Guess I'd better get used to the long time spans between visits... :-(  This will be a special visit for you indeed.

A: = AK!  Sorry!

A:  Ditto!  My big American Flag is put out each morning on the front of one of our big oaks, as I got for my 2 mile walk/dogs and pray for the recruits/sailors!  A very special time for me.

Going to VA to visit my sailor at Thanksgiving!  HOOYAH!  Just decided this morning since this is the 3rd one he has missed due to being in the Navy. Just a 2-day trip, but very special.  Haven't seen him since Christmas!

@Watson: YES. Collective energy and prayers always work. Always. I'm lighting my BLUE candle today for everyone's 'child' who is uncomfortable, ill, or feeling down and adding a bit of CA desert warmth to it.....

Aw {{{Jenn}}}} I feel you. Tough to hear our babies don't feel well. This time of the program is the toughest, I think, when issues come up and we can't be there to comfort them. My daughter is sick as well PLUS her skin issues flaring up AND had gnarly blisters to the point of needing special boot inserts OIY! - self esteem downers. Still, she is anxious to complete this all and sees the light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for the make up tips. I'll gather all that today and ship it out. The RTC contacted me and said:

Ma'am,

You can send her makeup. She will also have the opportunity to purchase some at the base store.

So, if my kiddo purchased some, oh well. She'll have her good stuff from home as well in one neat, tiny bag....

Gosh - can the 23rd get here soon enough??? Methinks not! Patience, patience...

T-day dinner:  Let's firm that up this week ladies. I'm in for that. My Aubrey sounded like she really liked that idea - chillin' with the fams for a day....

Have a beautiful fall day my friends - soon we'll be huggin' and holdin' our dear ones - and each other! :-)

Thank you watson!!  I pray for our SR's every day as I put out my flag in the morning. Also when I wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep, instead of being annoyed, I use it as an opportunity to pray.

Hugs to you Jenn. A letter like that would hurt my heart....I hope by now he's feeling much better...physically as well as mentally :)

Lol... This auto- correct thing on my phone
makes me laugh! The post should have read....
I believe in the collective power of thought and prayer.

Jenn, that does sound like a tough letter to handle.
It is so difficult on is Moms because our children mean so much to
us even when they are all grown up! Hang in there and I am sending your
son prayers. I have been sending all if them prayers and good enegy.
Hope we all get letters today! And I believe I'm the collective power of thought
and prayer. I pray for all out SR's mental, emotional, and physical well-being. May you all feel good about yourselves, have confidence, and determination about your boot camp training. May all of you be strong, courageous and keep your eye on your goal of becoming a Sailor! And so it is!
