Shoot - I missed Wacky Wednesday - had to take the baby for a doctor's appt.  Not that I would have been able to figure out the picture fast enough - but it's still fun to try.

@AZK/Tiffani- thanks for participating in Wacky Wednesday today- I had something to take care of and had to miss it!  Which ship/division won recruit pictures?

Diana, I'd feel the same way you do about my child trying to call and not getting through, but I'm sure it made all the difference in the world to her just to hear your voice.

Thanks for the # Dianne.  I called and they said no such luck.  The other divisions that aren't graduating go as a group to eat a special Thanksgiving dinner and aren't allowed to leave.  She said we couldn't even go say hi. :(  On another note, here's a website that has a listing of restaurants serving Thanksgiving dinner.  And.....there's a Thanksgiving Day Parade in downtown Chicago if anyone's interested.

Yay navywife! SO happy you had a great call - I need to be happy with my 30 seconds though. I tell ya, thinking of my poor girl using all her talk time trying to get through breaks my heart.....

Yes, it would be great to bring along a few more sailors to T-day dinner. I had thought it might be from our kids' divisions with no family around but it doesn't seem like it from the info. It confused me a bit. If anyone is on facebook, the Recruit Training Command page (official one) is a wealth of info and they respond very quickly)

Off to feed young minds good stuff for the day. Be well everyone....

Ribbons have been ordered, thank you LaLa.  I will send payment also when I get home.

@Diana, I'm with you, I mean really who's counting those 27 days down?  Not me.  :-).

@Navywife, yay!!  So happy for you, never thought hearing their voice could make you so happy huh?

Hope everyone has a great day.  Need to try for the Wacky Wednesday picture today, that would be the topper, get to see a picture of our SR's

We got a call yesterday evening from our son.  He called the house phone so we were both able to pick up and talk to him. We got to talk for 20 min and I welled up with tears as soon as we hung up. LOL!  He sounds good. Said they get to bed at midnight and get up at 0400 so he's pretty tired all the time, but enjoying it. For those of you who didn't get calls....if your child had a watch duty during the time the calls were allowed, they may not get to call until next time.  I know my son's friend who was in boot camp a few months ago only got to call us one time and it was near the end of boot camp because he always happened to have watch when they got to call.   Does anyone know if we can adopt a sailor who's in another boot camp division for Thanksgiving day?  My son has a couple of good friends who are in Div 803 PIR 12/3/11 and I was wondering if we could take them to dinner too.
