My son opened a Navy Fed account when he arrived the last week of Nov 2009. His first paycheck did not go in for a few weeks. Then a large amount is taken out of the first one for uniforms, etc.

maliz: RDC is the Recruit Division Commander....those are their BOSSES! They are the ones training the recruits. PT is physical training. PFA is Physical Fitness Assessment which they have to pass (all parts). IT is intensive training...this is used as punishment and can go on for a LONG time and involve the entire division. Those are just a few of the abbreviations you may come across.

Oh and one thing I forgot to say was, for those with guys in division 006, if all goes well, and they don't shoot themselves in the foot, they will earn phone call on Friday. Yeah!!!

Mornin' ladies - I got a letter from my daughter yesterday. It was dated Monday, October 12th, so I assume it was written on the 11th. She sounds good overall and says "The other girls are really awesome and are already like family". Parts of her letter sounded scripted, but then she began to sound more like herself. I feel so much better just hearing from her. She will be having her wisdome teeth out also, although I don't know when. Whew! I've cleared another hurdle!!

Kevin'smom. We are fortunate that our son's rate ( Inteligence Specialist) necessitate contact for extra needed information. So they tend to call before interviews, for their security clearances. He called this morning to make sure the information he requested from us the previous week had been faxed to the number he had given us. Oh and just FYI, if you receive a call from you SR and miss it, DO NOT CALL back the number on the phone. Usually a Chief Petty Officer will answer and then it is awkard to have to say your recruit just called and you missed it. They ended up tracking him down and he called us back. He just sounded so strong. Very happy today.

Morning ladies, I have definately felt troubled this past week while we have waited anxiously for news from our son who was waiting waivers in bootcamp. Our daughter and his gf both got letters yesterday and he sounded good. After both my husband and I missing phone calls this morning he did call back. There is so much to be thankful for. Yes, our son recieved waivers for both concerns he shared during his "moment of truth" at bootcamp. Yes, he had his wisdom teeth out and after just completing the past 3 days SIQ he is doing well and healing fast. He told us that he has already passed his first PFA. And if that wasn't enough he told us that he earned a great job in his division as the Religious Petty officer. There is such great relief as now we can go ahead and make plans and flight arrangements. Yeah!!!
