Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Our daughter's rate made it necessary for one such interview. We had to remember things like where she had worked as a teen and dates too. Yes, only answer the questions asked. The agent that came by our house not only walked around our block but sat in front observing the neighborhood too. We had to guess at some of the information listed because we just couldn' t remember specific dates. And I remember a short term job that my daughter hadn't listed. We will be getting another visit for our son's rate so at least we will know what to expect.

my bf if in div 007. he wants to go into the nuke field (scored high on his ASVAB). i heard he doesn't get to stay overnight with us after PIR. is this true? : (
also, a friend of mine has been posting on my fbook what they are going through each week. i would love to share if anyone is intersted?

DanandCarleysMom: Loved Residence Inn Waukegan! Suites...1 and 2 bedrooms, full kitchen. Within about 4 miles of base, shuttle to PIR ($3/pp each way). Free hot buffet breakfast in the lobby each day. Gas fireplace in the living room.

jenifer: They can't write until they have been there about 2 weeks....so maybe this is the week you will get one (may be written today as they are allowed to write on Sundays).

amy one gotten letters from their loved one? We haven't gotten any and have been a little down because we expected a letter this week.
