JM-ISmomx2 - yes, I booked AirTran from LAX to Milwaukee, leaving 11/23 at 7:30 am in the morning on Tuesday 11/23. Returning 8:55 pm on Friday 11/26. (Gets in around 11:00 pm.) I would have liked to stay the whole weekend but after that the price just about doubles. For my daughter the total cost was $491.00

srm54, I know you live in my area. did you book Airtran for both ways? And you are flying in and out of MKE, correct?

diannep - That's exactly what I have done with my airfare. I'm flying AirTran (best rate I found) but there is a change fee for $75 per person. I figured with the rate I got and if I had to pay the fee it was still cheaper than the other airlines.

Hi everyone, My son Cale is in ship 9, div 006. How is everyone doing ?
Comment by diannep on October 15, 2010 at 7:31am
kaceysmom: Check the nonrefundable prices too and ask the "change" fee. I found it was still cheaper to book nonrefundable even with a change fee if needed. And I had to USE that change fee since my son was asmoed (setback). The good news is that when I rebooked my flight, the price had gone done....so my change fee seemed like $89 rather than $150.

No problem. In today's economy we need to try and save as much as we can. Try kayak.com or fly.com. That is a search engine that will look at multiple airlines for you (except Southwest). Then look at Southwest and see if they can match it.

Kaceys-mom What airline are you looking at? Southwest has airfare in the $350 range for the dates you mentioned for 1 person. It's not refundable but you can cancel and have a credit for future airfare. Plus there is no charge for baggage.
