My mother just got her letter from my sister. She is on Ship 09 Division 8 on the USS John F. Kennedy. Her PIR is also 11/24/2010! We are excited that we finally have a graduation date and cannot wait to get her letters!

kacey'smom: As the letters start coming in, and the occasional call, you will feel better and better! Keep sharing your feelings on here with the others....it helps alot. When you see your son on 11/24 in his blue sailor uniform...it will take your breath away. It is the most awesome experience!

JM: Praying for your son. The bumps in the road in this journey are hard, but hopefully there are learning experiences in all of them....and things will be on track again soon so he can continue his training. Thanks for starting this group!

Hey, ladies. I"m a veteran mom like Jessica and Sobe, and wanted to join this group to help with any questions, etc. All of our sons PIRed earlier this year, and they are all stationed now. So hopefully, I can join Jessica and Sobe to share any experiences I have had. Good luck to all of your recruits! This is a nice small group, so I hope that you all get to know one another very well!

Also, if anyone is looking for a great group for prayer, Christian Chat on this site is wonderful. We welcome all requests for prayer, and love hearing about answered prayer too!

Oh, I hear you. My son graduated from high school into the recession and could never find work. It doesn't do good things for their self esteem. Please let us know as soon as possible. It seems so weird that this could hold him up.

I think the worst part is this knot in our stomaches just waiting for an update. There is a saying in the Navy Mom's group, "No news is good news." His appointment was yesterday, so we are guessing that if we didn't hear anything yesterday or today, things might just work out. It is just with the economy the way it is and he didn't enjoy college at all, it makes for a bleak future.

We are hoping that he does. He is a smart kid and shouldn't have any problems with the studing which they will still have him keep up with. And when he did his PFA he passed it easily. It just seems odd from our stand point that something like this would put a kink in things.

JM-Ismomx2 - Oh, I hope it all gets cleared up soon. It seems so many of our recruits have waited so long already to get there and get started it doesn't seem right that they have to keep waiting. Do you think he'll be able to keep the same PIR date?
Comment by srm54 (Ship 9, Div 005) on October 12, 2010 at 7:04pm
I wonder about Grad and Go too, especially around Thanksgiving. If they are Grad and Go do you think they would wait until Friday - doesn't seem like they would want them to go around Thanksgiving - especially if a lot of the people at A school have that day off.

StarChild that's terrific. So glad you received your letter.
