Kevinsproudmom - I haven't received anything but the offical letter. Hope to get one soon. My son is not much of a letter writer but I hope they MAKE him write a letter. lol

Also remember 10/11 was a federal holiday. The post office has to catch up.

I haven't received a letter or phone call yet either. This is their first real week of BC so they probably haven't had any free time as they were processing all last week . I'm not looking for anything or looking to hear from her for at least another week.

Lori, tell your daughter to let her friend's mom know that my son left on 10/4 as well and I have not received my letter yet. I have been getting nervous and I called Great Lakes this morning. I was reassured that the letter was mailed and I need to wait for the USPS.

My daughter just graduated 9/17: She left Tampa, FL 7/21...we did not get her letter with her PIR (graduation date until Monday 8/2 ..I think the "kid in a box" with all her stuff was around the same date) Fast forward to 8/16 when we got a TON of letters in the mailbox around noontime and my husband went home to start reading them all to me at work...when a call came in to my cell phone at work...IT WAS HER CALLING! I was already crying! What an awesome day! Her division was slow to form and she got there on a Wednesday putting her a week later than we thought...but based on what might happen (they get hurt, sick, etc. and may get set back a week) you might be a week later than expected. Believe ME...it is ALL WORTH IT! You will be so happy whatever date they get! We had the absolute best time just hanging out with our Sailor and SO PROUD!! :> )

StarChild - my son left on 9/21 and we did not receive anything in the mail until 10/7 (over 2 weeks later). I was getting very impatient and worried and then the letter finally came. Hang in there!

I have not received my letter yet so I do not know when my PIR will be. My son left Oct 4. Could anyone help me?

I love the countdown clock too. It takes our focus off how long our kids have been gone and helps us look ahead to PIR.
