Wow, it looks like this is a very lucky group. It would be awesome to get 5 days with your sailor after PIR. I wish my daughter had this PIR date lol. She is on hold at c-school now. She had PIR July 23, graduated A-school in Pensacola on Sept 23rd. She was also in the preforming division, in the choir, sadly she was a grad and go and was on a chartered flight. We stayed at the navy Lodge. If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask or send me a friend request. I am happy to help in any way I can.

Deneen- You found out about the ribbons I make for PIR and Meet and Greet faster than anyone ever has lol, maybe there should be a prize. :-) I sent you a private message with all the info for ordering ribbons. I did forget to mention that if your daughter is in the choir or band please let me know and I will add a music note to all your ribbons. Thanks again, I look forward to getting to know you all.

I just got my daughter's address from her recruiter. She's Ship 9, Div. 007. Anybody else have a kid in with her?

JM - we just found out last night that my son is also in Ship 09, Div 006. I got a call from him this morning as well - asking DOB for his dad and looking for a fax of his Birth Certificate. He told me he couldn't talk - so they were short but very sweet!
We're trying to decide if we can go to the graduation I'm hoping we can!

Hi Moms, I have had a red letter day. Not only did I get the official letter today but we got a 10 minute phone call from our boy also. Although it was for security reasons it was great to hear his voice. We are confirmed for PIR 11/24 and his ship is the USS John F. Kennedy (9), Div.006. He says that Div. 005 is their brother division and they do a lot of stuff together.
Our son has just been there 1 week and is finished with processing and today is officially Week1/Day1. The short note at the bottom of his letter was upbeat and funny. He said that on a good note the RDC's don't know his name yet!!

November avg high is 47 degrees and avg low is 32 degrees. Sometimes there is snow on Thanksgiving.

CC0727 - from what I understand and from what I have read about past years they will have Wednesday through Sunday as liberty days, which means we can spend Thanksgiving with them. Your Sailor is in the same ship and division as my son. Mine got there on 9/23 - how long has yours been there?
