I was on my way to pick Louis up in Charlotte and he called me to tell me that his flight had been cancelled. Ok that was fine. He had to land in Atlanta. So I turn around and start driving to ATL. I get another call and he says that his seabag can not get on the flight and it would get to him later or the next day. Well you can't separate a Seaman from his seabag, right? I was then told that he would land in Raleigh,NC @ 11:30pm (For my sisters who do not know the distances-Charlotte is one and half hrs from me, Atlanta is three and half hrs from me and Raleigh is four hrs from me.) Now I am headed to Raleigh. @ 10:50 pm as I am 10 miles away from the airport, I get another call. Louis is still in Illinois. WHAT THE CORNBREAD HECK!!!!! (I remembered that phrase and it came in handy last night.LOL). They were waiting for a flight attendant and didn't know when one would be coming. At midnight he boarded a plane and @ 2:06am I saw my baby. Both of us were tired, sooo tired. When we embraced, it was like: Yeah, yeah nice to see you but I am tired and ready to go home!!! When we got one of his bags, his body wash had spilled inside the pocket and messed up his strap to his seabag. I took the bag to clean it. He was only concerned with the strap so he cleaned that. I still smell like Old Spice Body Wash!! I drove back because I did not think he was in any shape to drive. I played music and sang loud, put the window down and put the pedal to the metal. Got back home @ 5:50 this morning. After bringing in his luggage, I called his name and he was out like a light. I went to check on him and there he was on top of his bed in his underwear. After being up over 24 hrs, I was seeing double Sailors in the bed.

Enjoy your visit. Still working hard on the wedding. Only 5 weeks to go. Say thank you to your sailor for us also. I'm sure many of us are envious that you can hug him today.

Hello All, Just came by to tell you that my sailor will be home Fri. I will not know where his flight will land-Columbia, Charlotte or Charleston. Navy is diverting his flight home on his way to Norfolk. He told me that he would know tomorrow evening. I told my principal that I may or may not be at work Fri AND I may or may not be at work next Fri. I think he knows I may not be at work!!! Really excited to see him. He said that he may do the RAP program. From my understanding he will be working with the Navy Recruiter's office next week. He has to report to Norfolk on the 22nd. I was hoping it would rain again because he car is dirty and I don't feel like washing it. Plus I have to take all of my things out of the car. DANG!! Looks like I will be cooking daily which is something I have not been doing either. I know my family will be happy to get cooking from me because I have been asking them to have supper done when I get home. HA!

Bubbymom-he is volunteering to go to Japan!! NO! That is wonderful that he wants to help out but please stay home and help out USA.

Shana- My sailor wanted to go to another country and I don't think they are thinking about us when they make those decisions. I wish him all the best but I wish he would stay in the states. Hopefully he will meet up with my sailor since he will be in Norfolk as well.

JM-WHEW!! sounds like you guys will be very busy for awhile but it is a beautiful occasion. I know you will have a box of tissue handy.

And he will stay at Dam neck where he has been in training for the past 7 months. He was chosen for NEIC, which was a great honor. The only tough part is he will be on the East coast and his family is on the West coast as well as his Navy sister.

Life has been crazy that's for sure. Our son is getting married. We have a total of 9 weeks to plan it. He received his orders and everything seems to be falling into place. He grads C school on May 13th, marries on May 20th, flies back on the 29th and has to report by the 31th. I sincerely appreciate the Navy cooperating in all our plans. I told our son that he has to ask his groomsmen and show up for the wedding in dressblues that fit. Everything else he is going to have to leave up to us back home. At least I know planning one in 9 weeks is doable you just don't realize you've lost your sanity until after it's over.

Hi Ladies,

Hey Shana, welcome back! Congrats to Kacey. Doing well, we try to keep in touch ever so often...it's good to hear from you. Hope he gets good choices...Andrea, all will go well. God has HIS hands in it...you are rearing her to make "better" choices. Our young people sometimes dont remember our pains. Their love is so genuine and the desire for that father/daughter relationship is always there. Good you allowing her to go shows her that you not only care about her feelings towards her father but are allowing her to judge him based on the present and not the past. Cudos to you mom, I know that's difficult...

Starchild...cutting pay..didnt hear that one...they barely are paid now. Glad it didnt happen with the government shutdown.  I was praying hard on that one...no family needs that added stress...especially when it can be prevented. Keep praying for our young men and women to come home.

Local soldier in the US Army was killed in Afganistan. Sgt. Hudgins..was an awesome young man..took up boxing in the army and had great potential to go to the olympics. God please bring our young people home "alive" soon.

Take care ladies...

My son said something about going to Japan to help out with the earthquakes. They are asking for volunteers for now...lift all those people in Japan up in prayer..there was another earthquake this morning if I'm not mistaken. Lord give them strength.
