I talked to my son today!!!! So happy. Last night I went on Facebook and typed in US Navy Training Command. If you ask questions, they will answer. Looking forward to PIR.

Yeah, it's like a different language and she talked really fast like she was trying to cram as much conversation into a short amount of time as possible. I can't even describe how unbelievable wonderful it was to hear her voice. She said "I can't believe I'm talking to you" and then there was a pause. I think we were both pulling it together so we could talk. Whew! She may be on her way to becoming a sailor, but she'll always be my little girl.

Yah, Andrea! HINT: As she throws initials at you, jot them down...then "google" them this way: Navy term PFA (as an example)

That is how I have learned alot of the lingo. My son gets annoyed explaining it all to me...still! He is stationed now and still throws the lingo at me, so figured I had better learn! PFA is Physical Fitness Assessment, by the way....one of the things they HAVE to pass to become a sailor.

OMG - I just got off the phone with my daughter. I about cried I was so excited to hear her voice. She's had her wisdom teeth out and evidently there was a bout of food poisoning, but overall she sounds good. She talked really fast and threw a bunch of initials at me so I had to keep asking what stuff meant. She said she's gotten a letter almost every day and to please write every day even if there's no real news. She said it's really disappointing to not have your name called for mail. I am on cloud 9 after talking to her. Now I can't wait for PIR. I miss her like crazy!!!

...another day closer to PIR and hugging that new sailor of yours!

Mornin' Ladies! Only 29 more days! Bubbymom - my daughter is supposed to be getting her wisdom teeth pulled too so maybe she got to lounge with your son? She's Div. 007 so I'm not sure if she'll be able to call today or not, but I'm keeping my phone with me just in case. Huge storm in Chicago shut down the airport today. Let's hope it doesn't do this as we're all making our way there for PIR!

Good Morning Moms! Got another letter yesterday...that's two in less than 48 hours...I was shocked. Guess he got an extra writing day...told me in this letter he was on 2 days recovery due to a wisdom tooth pulled. Wow! Said it was the best days since he'd been there...actually wrote 3 others in the family. Said he got to sleep, study and even saw tv. Sounds like he's doing much better..said he was at peace now with BC...and looking foward to his call today....still says it's coming today...so Div 08 stay near your phones....or any others. I'm not sure how they get phone calls...I'll keep you posted if it happens...crossing my fingers....Lala take care you and your loved ones are in my prayers...Praying for strength, peace of mind, for all us moms. Be blessed today ladies....

We aren't going to tell him it was delayed and Hubby and his GF won't know until she arrives in GL. And she won't be going into the fleet, not that kind of a job.
