Hi Everyone!! Got my second letter today! My son sounds much better, even cracked some jokes in this letter. Now, that's the young man I know and love. Who was that 2 weeks ago masquerading as my son...smile. Said he should be calling on he 26..so heads up for all of us in tha Div or ship that are still waiting.
Hi srm 54- stay strong, keep the faith and God always has a better plan for us. So, be encouraged and celebrate having your son back home. I'll keep you both/fam in my prayers. Cant believe all the hearing issues I read about on other forums as well. Ya'll not sure what it is..but I used to stress to my son about the loud IPOD music our young people listen to...then they have these things on 24/7. I'm guilty when I run I love my music..it gets me moving...but they have these awesome earplugs that go in the ear with base like youre at a live concert. Oh, such a nice Saturday...feeling good today about the letter...gonna go and make the best of my day. Keep the faith NavyMOMS....32d days and counting....

kaceysmom: That's great that you got such a good call! Had to laugh about the "hair growing back "comment. They say that you can tell who the "new arrivals" at bc are by the length of their hair! (after it is shaved) Except for mine who loves having his hair just about as short as he can get it! HA!

thanks everyone and Diannep I like that idea of putting all of the pictures on a sheet of paper,,,
Comment by diannep on October 22, 2010 at 8:36pm
Tammie: Suggestion on the pictures. Why not scan a bunch of them (or print) onto a sheet of computer paper...front and back...and send that? Takes up less room in storage (they have very limited room) and it makes the envelope less thick if you plan to send several individual pictures.

kevnisproudmom: Boy, are you in luck! Being the first division (lowest number) in your PIR group, you will be at the far end of the PIR Hall...directly in front of the BIG DOOR! YAH! You will see the "slow reveal" as the door slowly rolls up...and there are the sailors....it is quite wonderful to see! The bleachers are all on the same side of the hall....those in the 900/800/higher divisions are closer to the entrance to the hall. The sailors will parade around the entire hall before stopping on the far side of the wall in front of their division sections in the stands. So your sailor will be in the group right in front of you. Look at some of the PIR videos on youtube. Just type in NAVY PIR and see what comes up. You'll see what I mean.

My son had to have 2 done before BC that were impacted. The last 2 he had done in BC this week and he said it was much less painful then the first time. He enjoyed the 2 days SIQ and 1 day LLD.
