OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi all, I got my sons form letter yesterday, he is SHIP-04 DIV-021 & his PIR is Nov 30. HE left Oct 1 for bc & arrived the night of Oct 2. The 3rd was really hard on me, since it was his 19th birthday & the first one we've been apart. I am thrilled for him achieving his dream he has had since he was 13yr & achieving his goal of going into the NUKE program since he was 16yr. We are so excited about going to his PIR & seeing how much he has changed. So VERY VERY proud of him.

Yes diannep i did notice the really neat writing. At first I wondered if someone else wrote it. The i got here ok call, you could also tell it was scripted. Made it easy on him and did not ask any questions. Anxious to get first letter to see the correct address. the form letter address had ship 02, recruiter said the system said ship 04. One of our veteran members posted the address's from the official website and it matched the 04 address except the ship number. I have gone with that. Interesting. This website has made this experience much easier

Yay Jennifer! I hit that point probably a few days ago. I cried for the first few days, was numb the next few, and now I just feel an overwhelming sense of pride. :)

Good morning =) I think today I've finally come to terms with what bf is doing, and it seems much easier. I didn't wake up feeling insecure and anxious, instead I woke up feeling happy and proud and looking forward to this new adventure he has created for himself and for the both of us! Hope everyone else is doing well. Almost to the two week mark. Hopefully time will go a little faster now that the initial "shock" is over =)

Treymom321, Thanks for the info. I didnt even get that much info from my son when he made the "im here" call. He has never been one to offer any information, only when you ask specific questions and then the answers are very short! I sent him stamps, however  I dont expect to much writing from him either however he may surprise me! Keep me posted on if you have any contact with your SR.
