Woo Hoo!
ahem.... I mean Hooyah!
I should say on the packages for make-up and contacts. They WILL be opened in front of an RDC and iinspected for content. Along with ANY bulky mail and photos you send. They will store the make-up and contacts or they are held for them (not sure which)
Please do not send too much...they have very little storage for letters and photos. Some mail excess letters home (many send a manilla envelope with pre-paid postage for the recruits to do so.
We often suggest photocopying pics onto the back of your letters to save space.
bluesarasota -TY so much!! That is the first time I have ever heard that and so we now can watch for it! I am guessing maybe they are suggesting FedEx for the packages for the makeup and contacts. USPS does have the flat rate Express mauil boxes though. Hmmmm....
We "veterans"...our Sailors PIR'd a while ago and as you can all see...things change and we like to keep up to date to pass correct info. Any assist and help is sooo welcome...some of you may be familiar with military life and then at the end of eight weeks you will know so much yourselves! This site is Navy Sponsored has a Site Admin...but it is run by volunteers
