WELCOME TO PIR 11/20/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The area code for Great Lakes is "847". You may also see "PAY PHONE" or "US GOVERNMENT".

I just got my letter!! This is his PIR date. He is ship 14 div 025.
My only concern is he put his uncle instead of his sister in the guest list. I think he was confused because his uncle came to meps with me to see him swear in and leave. We were talking about the graduation. But my brother (his uncle) is planning on visiting him while he is in A-school at GL. Will he be able to change his name to my daughters?

Bellamom: My bf's dad called recruiter last Friday, and it took him til Tuesday to get back with him with the address. Maybe you'll hear from him on Monday (since it's not a holiday!) Or maybe the letter will come today. Good luck!!

FTLW or  another vet mom - If haven't heard the latest on photos, and I just got this question:

Does the cost of the photo come out of the recruits issues card, or do they have to use their own credit card or check?  ie how do you pay for them?

Since you wrote this a couple years ago, I thought I'd ask you 1st.  Is this post still true?

Yea the graduation letter from my nephew has arrived. So sad that my name was not on the list but I completely understand why he would want his wife, mom, dad and nanny to be there. I can support him from where I am. He is on ship 3 division 020 anybody else have one in that division?
Comment by diannep on October 13, 2012 at 10:30am

You can send cards....but we recommend white envelopes!  Good Morning!

Does anyone else have a love/hate relationship with their mailman or is it just me?? I spend all day waiting for him, when he gets here I run out the house to check what I got and then STILL NO LETTER and he instantly becomes my enemy...until the next morning.
