Kim W I believe the RTC stopped doing the Tuesday Trivia a few months ago when they changed their FB timeline. They now post random photos of divisions once a week instead. This is the link to the RTC FB page.

Anyone heard of the Tuesday Trivia? If we get the correct answer then our divisions photo will be posted on for us to see. I just don't know where they post the questions. Anyone know??

My daughter left on 10/02 and based on what I've been reading I think she will graduate on 11/30. I received 'her box' today. I'm hoping for a letter tomorrow since today was a holiday.

OK FTLW, I started to make a references list to be safe, and I got to a duh stage.  What do they need?  My son would most likely be in the 800 division.

lol, there will be no voting you off the island :-) You are welcome here until you find out and then as long as you want to be here after you find out. The more the merrier :-)

Hello to All! Not sure if I'm in the right group or not. My SR left Monday,Oct 1st. I received "the box" on Friday. I have not received the letter yet though. I'm not sure if my SR will have PIR 11/21 or 11/30. There was an indication of a push division, so really not sure of much. So anxious to hear. This is a lot tuffer than I thought it would be.

Comment by JackFlash on October 8, 2012 at 7:12pm

Okay--- I joined too and will stay until I discover I don't belong, or until I otherwise get voted off the island.

My son went to MEPS last Thursday and flew into Chicago Friday, Oct 5.  He called yesterday, but didn't volunteer any Division info---- I didn't think to ask.  No box yet.

SECURITY CLEARANCE INFO CALLS HOME

There is the possibility of you receiving a phone call from your SR (Seaman Recruit) during the first one to two weeks after their arrival for Security Clearance info. I received mine one week after my son arrived at RTC. Had no idea it would come that fast. I'd only really been on the site for a week or two, so I had NOTHING ready! So... if your Recruit has a rating that requires security clearance information...800 Divisions, IT's, CTI's CTT's Nukes, AT's (the list goes on!), anyone that handles confidential info...have a list of references by the phone.

This is a short business call and is monitored. No time for chit chat...but once in a great while the person monitoring the call allows a few extra minutes.

The area code for GL is "847". My security clearance call, the caller ID said "US GOVERNMENT". We have also had "PAY PHONE" reported and then area codes for the surrounding areas...so answer all...and just get rid of those telemarketers!

Also, if you receive a call from your SR (at any time...not just the Security Call) and miss it...please do not call the number back. Your SR could get in trouble.

No one has done anything wrong, this will just be posted to inform any new members and as a gentle reminder to those already here in the beginning weeks of BC.

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time to read the N4M's Community Guidelines (clickable link). Within it are links for OPSEC videos and info. Boot Camp is kind of training for us as well! Many are new to military life. We learn how to endure long periods of not seeing nor hearing from our loved one, we learn how to go through holidays, special occasions and birthdays w/o our loved one and we learn how important OPSEC is to not just our Recruits/Sailors safety but our countries.

Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended.

First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

That being said...don't be afraid to post! Our PIR groups are meant to inform and support you! PLEASE don't stop posting about your Recruit and getting letters and calls and stuff like that. Just don't mention specifics. If something is really concerning you and you don't want to post publicly, you are free to friend any of us veteran/seasoned moms and ask privately.
