Sapphirestone, My son left on Monday, Oct 1 and we got the "box" and the form letter (with his address and PIR date) both on Friday, Oct 5.  We live in the Midwest so not sure how long mail will take to get for you.  His letter was postmarked Oct. 3.

Hello . My son left Wednesday Oct 3. I would love to know his address and division. How did your recruiter find out?

Hello everyone! My boyfriend of 3 and half years left October 2nd, his recruiter just called me to give me his address. Ship 14 Div025. I don't have the formal letter yet, but judging by the rest of the PIR dates as compared to the leave dates, looks like this is when his is too. Nice to be here around people who are going through the same thing :)

They each have a "brother" division that they train with.  So they know those SRs very well too.  Some of my son's best friends were actually in his brother division.

The 900 and 800 divisions normally don't have a brother division...unless there happen to be two 900 divisions or two 800 divisions in a PIR group.  That happens, but it is very rare.

michie:  Welcome!... and stay on this group until you are confirmed here or have to move to another group by way of the date in the form letter.

Trevmom:  Yes, there are several divisions in the same ship.  The ship number is the "barracks" number.  The division number is the very important number.

mich- wednesday the 3rd? I would think there is a good chance he is with mine, mine arrived the 1st.

I am probably jinxing myself by joining this group too early...my son hit GL on Wed and will be in the 800 division, so I'm gambling on this one at the moment.  No box or letter yet, but I don't expect any for quite a while.  I am excited though to connect with others.  It really helps me stay positive.

Liberty will depend on A School. If they are staying in GL for school they will most likely have liberty every day from approx 6:30am to 10pm (these times can vary). Friday they do have to move to the TSC side about and hour after PIR, but will be able to leave again after checked in.

If they are flying out for A School, they will have liberty on Friday and most likely fly out Sat sometime. You should be able to meet them at the airport and sit with them until their flight leaves on Sat.

Good morning. I am a veteran mom whose son was on this road awhile back. For those of you in 800 divisions, once your discussion is started I will join in to help with any questions and hopefully provide some helpful information.

Yes.  s they more than one division per "ship"?
