OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the time
to read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thank you soooo much Rayner!!! Do you have a Facebook page we can go to to see the photos??

Comment by diannep on November 22, 2012 at 2:40pm

Keep those cell phones close, everyone.  Those who were adopted for the day will be able to use the cell phones of those giving the dinners to call home!  Hope you get some great calls soon!

Wow, that is great, rayner!  Thanks for the post!

Here is the link to the news station for those who aren't local.  Later on, when the news of the sailors is posted on there, we can put the exact link to the story.

Hi there Moms!  My son is not on this ship but.....

I am at an American Legion Hall That is hosting a Thanksgiving dinner for the SR Div 029 and 030!!

I will be taking pictures and I will post them here.  I will let you know.  They are all great men!  They made them all speak to tell us where they are from and why they joined the navy.

*****  Watch channel 5 news here in Chicago!!  google and find out how.  They interviewed some men and video taped alot.

I just wanted to give you the heads up to look for it.  You might see your son!  All men there no women.  46 in all.

I am going to be leaving to head back there. Just want  you to know that they might be calling - cell phone s are available..

Happy Thanksgiving!
