For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

WELCOME TO PIR 11/20/2012

OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance. Please take the timeto read the OPSEC and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names of Sailors/Recruits are not allowed on this site. If it is in your username you will need to change your username. If yours is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

First time the automated system took me nowhere cause i did not have an extension number. The next two times it took me to somebodys extension with a message. I left messages to return my calls.. I let them know I am frustrated the last time. The form says it is ok to call but they dont answer or return calls. I called 3 different days. So every couple days I fax the form again. I figure it should definitely be there. I will probably send a note with it regarding not being able to confirm receipt so that is why i keep faxing it. FYI some of you probably already know this but dont send newspaper articles to your SR. They get in trouble for that. I sent the world series article and my SR said that was the first time he was yelled at to his face. I felt so bad.

He didn't ask for mail but when I talked to him he made a joke about how many letters my boyfriend gets and that he's only received two. So I put his name on the Calls for Recruits/Letters Home project Facebook and gave it to Little Miss Red to send a Thanksgiving card. I couldn't remember if I gave it to anyone else on here. Haha I lost track for a minute too!
