Yippee! We finally made the official list...
Ok, not sure the link below is working, but I know you can go to www.kayak.com and find the rental cars on there.
Elsie: You may want to try comparing rental car prices in Milwaukee at:
http://www.kayak.com/RENTALCARS
I know that renting a car in Milwaukee is cheaper than in Chicago. Airfare many times is cheaper too, and you have no traffic to contend with! Southwest Airlines (no change fee, 2 bags checked for free) flies into Milwaukee and also Chicago-Midway.
Good Morning Ladies!
Craig: Did you get my pm to you the other day????
Good morning everyone :-)
Craig, that was sweet for him to invest so much time in the relationship. I hope it worked out.
Thanks Craig, I knew someone would have the full answer. :)
Ladies - Per the Christmas leave. You can usually go "In the hole" (Navy term), for leave, but it is based on the command. Most school commands will allow you to take both x-mas and new years off, but some will only allow you to take one or the other.
Almost all commands will allow you to go in the hole if you have at least .5 (1/2) days "on the books" (another Navy term), but if you're negative, they usually don't allow you to take leave (unless the negative balance was a result of emergency leave).
Please don't let your joy of having your sailor home for Christmas ruin the joys you might have later. Example, would you rather have your sailor use up all of their leave during Christmas? or would you rather see them again prior to them shipping off overseas? Leave management is something your new sailors need to think about.
Remember too, that while in school, and if authorized, your sailor can put in an "out-of-bounds" request chit. This authorizes them to leave boundaries set by the school command for the weekend that you don't have duty. Example, my nephew was trying to keep a long term relationship going. About every 3 weeks he would fly home for the weekend (Pensacola to Denver). Those days did not count as leave. He did this for almost 2 years while in "A" and "C" school.
I know someone will ask "That was expensive". His response was "Uncle Craig, what else do I spend my money on? I don't drink. This is what makes me happy".
Their leave accrues at 2 1/2 days per month. I am not sure exactly how they borrow, but I understand they can borrow up to 5 days.
Yes elsies asked something i was wondering. My SR says he'll have ten days off for christmas. Does this mean he can only take five days off though cause of leave? or does christmas break count as liberty?
Anyone have a suggestion on best-priced rental car companies out of Milwaukee airport?
Does sailors get to use only accrued/earned leave if they go home for Christmas, or can they borrow against anticipated earned leave? My SR thinks he will have 2 wks' leave but I have my doubts....
