1st: 30 days everyone!
2nd: Please remember to put stamps on the letters. I dropped off two letters at the post office today and realized when i got home much later that i forgot to put stamps on! Please learn from my terrible mistake!
Diannep, thanks so much I really hope that they are just messing with him. I have alot of things planned for us, my mother and his family are traveling with us but they will all be heading back on Saturday so the weekend is going to be the only time that I get him to myself so I really hope we still get to have that and I don't have to head back early.
Michelle: I agree with ellen....never have heard of that before. Liberty is different from "leave" time, which is what they accumulate per month. I think that he will have daytime liberty through the weekend, other than "watch" times. It could be that some of the "powers that be" there are "messing" with them....I would plan on him having the weekend daytime liberty.
@Runningagain55. Haven't seen you post on the group page for ship 04, div 801 and 802. Come join us too!
Still waiting on a call from my son. Thought I might get 1 over the weekend so kept my phone glued to me. My mom & I have onlt received 1 letter each also. :-( Haven't received anything about Thanksgiving either & we would love to go up & spend the day with our son.
Ellen, that's what I thought too and I explained that to him (sometimes I feel like I'm the one schooling him about the Navy with all that I've learned from here :) lol) but he still told me no that he already knows about Friday and registering for class, he said from what he has heard he would only be able to see us maybe 5 or 6 hours during the weekends because his liberty hours would be used for PIR too. He told me to just book the hotel till Saturday just incase and that if they do let him spend more time with us that we can just pay for the extra days over there
Michelle, You will only have about an hour after PIR before your husband has to go back to his ship to pack and move his things over to the TSC (training support center) side for school. This process takes a few hours, but he should be able to leave sometime between 2pm and 5:30ish (there is not a set time they can leave) for the evening.
You should also get Sat and Sun from about 6:30am to 10pm.
Perhaps that " deduct from liberty" came from the Friday moving over to the other side for school. Unless something has changed, that we are unaware of. you still should have all weekend.
My husband is going straight to A school right after PIR since he's school is in Great Lakes, I was planning on staying till Monday since from my understanding they are supposed to have weekend liberty. When he spoke to me last night he said that he might only get to spend a few hours with us if any during the weekend because they deduct the liberty hours for PIR, is this true???
Yes, and if you get the first name for the one we both got let me know and I will write to him and give it to my friend at the Naval academy to write to him too.
I asked if he will advance to E-2 now. But I think he will. In the letter before this one he said he didn't know if he would because he passed the PFA but he didn't know about the written test yet, and this time he said he passed the written test.
