Praying for all of the recruits tonight. At least you can think of this way. You will be going to bed with your recruit being a recruit and then when you wake up he or she will be a Sailor!!!! Cant wait for that phone call!!! Hope everyone has a good night. Try to get some rest.

If they are grad and go to Great Lakes then their A-school makes that decision

Okay folks here is the deal..you know I am kind of protective of all of you...and I was a wee bit irritated about the battlestations thing (ya think) and I wish Angie had handled it differntly, but I heard from a person that I really trust that she is a good person. She has been a part of Navy For Moms for many years and has been a great resource to people. So, for that reason, I think perhaps she had her heart in the right place and maybe just could have done things a little differently. I know I am sure guilty of that many times. So anyway I just want to say that maybe I was hard on her. I like to be accountable for my actions and so if she sees this I hope she will continue to be the good resource that she is.

what factors contribute to whether or not they have overnight liberty as a G&G staying in Great Lakes?
Comment by diannep on October 28, 2010 at 9:19pm
Yah! You may have him with you for overnights then! Wonderful. Good, because by the time you pick him up from the new base, he will know how much room he has.

diannep my son is grad n go..his A school is at GL..thanks for the advice.

navymom: Alot of that will depend on how much space he has in his room for civilian clothes! Will your SR be on base before you all leave? If so, then you can take some back home if there are too many. I would start with a few...and then mail more if he needs them, unless you just pack them back up and take them home. Yes, they have to "phase up" to be able to wear them...but then they sure enjoy it! Mine had a short A School....so he didn't want any. He ended up purchasing just a little clothing when there...and got more of his clothes when he came home on leave.
How's THAT for a long way to answer a simple question??
