I'm afraid to "allow" that site to access all my Faceook information. Is it safe? I tried but when it said "allow" or "don't allow" I chickened out. Sent you a personal message. I'm changing my profile picture on Facebook to the same one on here so you can find me easier. I can't find you...lol. There is like a million people with the exact same name and spelling!

Hey Lynn!!!! My cousin Courtney Olsen is a Captain in the ARMY on her second deployment. She is going to be featured in that show..."Diva's of the Desert". I am so proud of her. She is the youngest Captain that the ARMY has had. I will be TiVo ing that show!

I just wanted to send out a HUGE thank you to Ashley who took me in for two days over Thanksgiving! This was so very generous especially throughout the holiday season! It beat hanging out in a hotel room over Thanksgiving and eating tv dinners by myself! Your cooking was amazing and I appreciate your hospitality. You have a beautiful little family and your little girl is adorable. It was also really great getting to meet Monica and her man. You guys kept me rolling in my seat as you joked around during our turkey dinner. :) Thanks for all your help with shuttling my guy from place to place and answering any of my questions. ALSO....thanks Tammie, (my bf mom) for all your words of kindness you've said on here about me. You're really something special and I am very grateful having you as my support system with our sailor :) Thank you all! This thanksgiving I am entirely grateful for all of you!

I hear you about that Karen...I am never quite sure which son will be calling the boisterous one, the quiet one, the reflective one, the I don't give a damn one or the one prior to boot camp...sometimes I feel like I am living with a multi-personality at the moment...however this is all normal as they readjust and try to find a balance themselves...so we just have to hang in there and give them space and time...it's like the teeter totter...first he RDCs hit the sucker with a huge weight and they were flipped high in the sky...then boot camp ended and they hit the ground with a thud.....and now slowly but surely they are kicking their feet against that ground...trying to find what discipline, decisions, and attitude really fits best for them...and then once in a while a commanding officer or an instructor throws a little cog in the wheel...and they bounce up and down some...but the bounces will get smaller and the balance will get steadier...we will all breathe easier...lol...we can do this...we are seasoned moms now....lol

Oh and can I complain for a sec...700.00 for my child's plane ticket...sheesh...it only takes 8 hours to drive...holy Christmas...and then he says..."Mom how long is my layover?" Oh son, I tried to keep it short. "Not too short I hope, the USO is fun, and my roommate got 2 free airline tickets from a pilot who just walked in and handed them to him." Oh good so now we like layovers...lol!!

Dear sweet Monica bailed me out of a jam this weekend and saved my son from hang dog duty...not to be confused with dog duty which he did have...hang dog duty...is dog duty when the only child is sulking because his phone was about to puke out and it did one hour after Monica graciously went to Walmart and bought him a brand new computer. Did you know you can send cash Walmart to Walmart moms...lol? Ms. Monica then drove to the base and hand-delivered it to him...now if that isn't family...I don't know what is and I sure would be proud to have you as a daughter in law any day of the week...thank you honey!!

Hi All. hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Talked to my son, he said dinner at his buddy's aunt house was awesome. Said everything was homemade. and so much food he didnt know where to start. Then they went to another house and played pool, darts, and watched the Saints game. So thankful for all the people who can take our sailors in for the holidays. He also got to tour a "Real" sub on Wed. he was like a little boy with a new toy,. couldnt stop talking about it.. Looking forward to him coming home Dec. 27th
