Diannep thanks for the lock n go information..do you know how much if any civilian clothes they can have as well..I understand that they can not wear at first..but thought it would be better than mailing later? I plan on bringing my SR thermals and sweats to sleep in and saw somewhere about a small blanket for bunk..I realize not to load down with too much but my question is how much is too much? Thanks

Yep, Denise, most of the "I'm a Sailor" calls come after 1 or 2 pm GL time....except if they are made the day before PIR...then they usually come earlier. So...everyone (including LYNNE!)...praying for your recruits-soon-to-be-sailors tonight...and keep the cell on your bodies all day! Can't wait to see the posts. Be sure to ask your sailor if all in his/her division passed and then post that for the anxious ladies who may not get a call for a while.

Absolutely correct, Lynne, on the GradNGo info. The only ones who cannot pass off cell/laptop at ariport are ones whose sailors are on a charter flight rather than commercial (you won't see you sailor if on a charter). Then you can mail this things once they are settled on A School base.

Like Lynne said, for those GradNGo to Great Lakes base, they usually move over there right after PIR (takes several hours). Then you pick them up at their new base and they may even have overnight liberty with you (they will know). They should be able to return to their base with cell and laptop, but they will find that out when they report on base.

For those who are staying in GL but not reporting to the GL base for several days after PIR, there is a place called "Lock N Go" that has lockers where you can put the cell/laptop/etc. and they can retrieve once they are on base (sometimes they group together and take a cab to get these things).

Forgive me for this y'all..but I have a little problem I have to take care of..
Angie..I would be happy to discuss this with you..however you will not accept my friend request instead in the last several minutes you have sent me numerous comments on my page but do not allow me to respond. First, I have seen the statement. However, unlike you I went further and had a conversation with Public Affairs to clarify. I have clarified. I know who and what they were talking about. I feel comfortable that I am in compliance.
In addition, you posted that in a public chat when you knew that 149 members could do nothing about what was posted. You should have followed protocol and emailed me directly with your concerns. I am the admin of this site and I am the only one who can remove it. Being in the Navy I am sure you understand prottocol.

I have notified Navy For Moms Admin about my conversation and the contents of that conversation. Do not send me any more comments. If you want to address this, then do so appropriately and accept me as a friend instead of sending comments that can not be answered or making statements in the public arena here.

I specifically used the terminology of a snooper to see if you returned here and because it teaches the folks in this group a good lesson about the need to be very careful about what they say, using the names of their recruits and never knowing who might be reading it. I stand by what I said.

I have been in full contact with the people who "supervise" me so to speak and was aware of what you were writing in other PIR groups and had already been checking on it prior to you making your remarks in this group. They have been aware of every step I have taken. I think this is now a dead issue. I did remove the specific times associated with the Battlestations.
