Amelia, my heart goes out to you and your daughter. I hope she heals quickly and that everything turns out ok for her.

I hope everyone here has a good day today. I'm hoping for a letter to brighten mine. My daughter is on her way to MEPS now and will fly out to BC tomorrow. We're all hoping that she gets to graduate before Christmas, but we'll see. What would be really cool is if we see her (I know it would just be in passing and sheerly by accident) when we go to PIR for our son next week.

I am so sorry Amelia, I will say prayers for you daughter and she will pull through it you know she will, it is just tough not being able to help. I know my recruit complained about having some pain like shin splints and I haven't heard anything since. Sorry this happened to her sooooo close, but she will finish just a little later.
I still haven't gotten a letter or a call in 2 weeks arhgggggggg!!!!!!!

I know everyone is excited about PIR and such but please do not let your vigilence down at this point...please don't put pictures of your recuit up as your identifier...prying eyes are still looking...let's remain tough until the end and even when PIR is done it is important you keep your profiles private and your pictures and id's as non-descript as possible.

Amelia...I am so sorry to hear about your recruit...I know it is devastating for both your family and her. I also know she is strong and will survive as will you. I knew a person on this very site whose son broke his wrist about three weeks into boot camp. He spent 3 months in Ship 6, was finally medically and six weeks later graduated with honors from boot camp. So you hang in there...I have a feeling all will be okay. I sure would like to be one of those people who write to your daughter while she is ship 6. I would consider it a privelege.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts & especially your prayers. I think once she gets through the shock and reality sets in--she'll be fine. It was a clean break & no surgery required--so that is positive. Now to recover and since she was so close to BS21--I don't think -- at least I hope & pray they don't boot her. She'll just have to spend more time there.

She's just meant to be there longer and maybe this will help her with everything and prepare her even more for the future ahead! We are so proud of her and in our hearts--she is a SAILOR!

BS21 was just a formality--she's gone in to burning buildings & rescued people in emergencies as an EMT/FF--so now we just wait and see what happens next!

Thank you everyone, Tracy
