Very inspirational. Made me cry (happy/proud tears).
Thanks for everything.

Lynne,
THANK YOU for your leadership and support on here. The day my son left for BC as a "MOM" I felt so alone with a million tears and 1,000's of questions. Through this site, I soon found out I was not alone. I want to also thank everyone else for your support and prayers, as we have shared our experience. I look forward to hearing how your sailors are doing in the weeks and months ahead. And especially look forward to meeting many of you in just 11 days.

hands down i tip my hat to you for your strength and dedication to see to it that we're all informed of our loved ones at bootcamp. I can honestly say that when my wife first told me of this site, i was a bit skeptical of it but i promised her i'd keep up with it and i love this site for all the help it's given me and helped me in my time of need.
because of the site, i've earned friendships and trust of certain people that I DON'T EVEN KNOW, but yet we have formed a strong camaraderie through one website and experiencing the same thing. To all of you, thank you very much for prayers. Whether i know you or not, you all have a special place in my heart. I'm not one to usually open up a lot but because i needed someone, i had to put my pride to side and accept the fact that calling out for help isn't a weakness, but in fact a strength. If i ever offended any of you in anyway, shape or form, i apologize.
I can't wait to meet you all and continue, like Lynn said, this friendship we've all come to have. In the past 8 weeks i've come to meet some amazing people that have helped me out. THANK YOU! I appreciate everything you've done to help me in my time of need. I promise to never back away from you all, but instead keep in touch and continue the wonderful updates of my wife and I's new life.
I hope to see all of you soon.

much love, positive vibes and God Bless

I woke today and realized that times are about to change....what a journey we have been on together. Today our focus must change. No longer is it on survival, rather it is on CELEBRATION: MOMS, WIVES, GIRLFRIENDS, FIANCEES, HUSBAND'S, DAD'S FRIENDS AND SIBLINGS AND WHOEVER ELSE I MISSED...WE ARE CLOSE TO MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

This week our recruits begin the culmination of their greatest acheivements as four divisions begin Battlestations on Thursday evening. I hope each of you have purchased your blue candles and will light them in honor of your recruit when they begin battlestations. Let them burn in their honor until you receive that coveted "I am a sailor call."

As the anticipation and excitement grows this week I want to pause for a moment and thank you for the great opportunity and privelege you have given me over the past several weeks in getting to know you. If someone would have told me that I would have laughed instead of crying, cheered instead of cursing, and felt empowered rather than defeated over these many weeks I would never have believed it. Each of you has been a blessing in my life and I will never forget this experience or the people I have met because of it.

This week will be a week of many endings. It will be the last letter I send to my son in boot camp. It will mark the last phone call I get from my son in boot camp. Hopefully, it will be the last worried thought I have of my son IN BOOT CAMP ( I am sure there are many more to come).

One thing I hope won't end in the next 10 days is the friendships that many of us have built. I hope you will maintain your relationships with each other and with me. For those of you who are newlyweds or hoping to marry...I want to hear about your babies and your life in the Navy. For those of you who have children, I want to know how they do, where they end up stationed and how life progresses for them. For each of you has become a part of my Navy family. So we march on now to accomplish what we set out to do...to stand proud and victorious one week from Friday...Navy Strong, Navy Proud...knowing we survived our boot camp as well...we gave them wings!!

jck: Good question! You may want to call the Public Affairs Office about that....but since the ballots have to be received back by Nov 2nd, is there still time? It would be interesting to see what the PAO office says.- 847-688-2405

Andy's mom, the gate pass is just to have if you are driving on base. As for the 5 people getting in, at some point after you are on base is when you tell them the names on your recruits list. I am in the same boat, with 5 of us going also, but, I am just going to keep my fingers crossed and save a little room where we are sitting and text my husband where we are sitting and when the graduation starts, he will hopefully be able to join us.

Call received from my ex. He has the letter at home. Will call me when he gets home from work. Now I have to figure out how to get 5 people in on my 2 passes. Recruiter said no ones ever been turned away so I'm hoping. We live 2 hours from base so we are driving in early Friday morning. Anyone know how long it takes to actually get on base if you are driving in? A shuttle is sounding much nicer right about now..lol
