Hi everyone we're on the count down now, thanks to everyone here this site was a great help. I don't come from a military family so all of this was new to me Thank God I found you guys, see all of you soon. I also read somewhere that 26 should be last day to write as well, guess if they're gone they will return it to us.

Becky, I think we can relate to the feelings you have about being nervous, anxious, and of course full of pride!! I didn't know my husband when he went through PIR 24 years ago (we met and married a couple of years after that)... but I know we're both just so pleased and excited about our kids. My daughter leaves for BC on Tuesday/Wednesday of this week so we have that to deal with as well. She's a bit of a drama queen here at home (but very goal-oriented), so on one hand I can't wait for her to get out into the "real world" and on the other hand I'm an emotional mess when I think about her leaving... and then I think about being able to see our son when he graduates on 11/5 and I'm just like "wow"... the time has gone by so fast and of course we miss him terribly. I can't wait to see him!!! My daughter actually had the nerve to say this morning "you know Mom, you dont have to come to my PIR since I'll be home for Christmas right after graduation"... hello!! I'm going to be there one way or another, I wouldn't miss it for the world!! LOL kids... I appreciate her trying to be thoughtful, but she won't understand what we're going thru until she has kids of her own.

Diana-- bring clothes for cold weather, make sure all liquids (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc.) are in bottles no bigger than 3.4 oz and in one clear ziploc type bag that is no bigger than 1 qt, and identification on your person not in checked baggage...and I always put my electronics (laptop, kindle, ipod, etc) in my carry on or purse because you are handling the bag and won't smash it by accident
