We received letters today too! Not alot of new information except that they are coming together better as a division and their RDC's have starting playing music for them when they are working inside. (Real music, not Barney!) I don't guess they have taken their portraits yet, as of Sunday, because he said he would buy the package I wanted when the time came. He is friends with other NavyForMoms sons, so they think that is cool! He said they had started weapons training so that would have been last week. Hope you all get good news and more phone calls soon! 20 days and counting!!! Yea!

I recived letters today as well, he actually made me a questionnaire LOL. He also mentioned something about his dad not needeing a ticket to PIR, as long as he has his millitary ID (he was navy for like 30 years). Is that true? Has anyone ever heard anything about that?

We're staying at Red Carpet Inn and they have a shuttle. The first letter you got from your recruit was a form letter with a brochure. The form letter had a few lines at the end that your recruit should have written in. The list of hotels is in that brochure your recruit sent at the beginning.

navygirl: I believe you have to take a taxi from the airport...it's not cheap, from what I'm told. GL is about 25 minutes away from the airport. I think it runs about $45-$50 each way. Some take a cab to the Chicago train station and go by train. The GL train station is right by the bases.
