Okay my hearts in my stomach right now. I guess his Division is Grad and go, but my recruit was told he was going to A school in the GL. Is it possible to have grad and go status but not leave?

What I had been told was that if your new sailor finishes at the top of his class in A School, he can choose his station. Since mine didn't get that honor (HA!), not sure about it, but my son claims that it is true.

alice- your welcome. your recruit will usually put together his dream sheet sometime in a-school if he hasent already. My husband wrote in his last letter that he already made his. But even though they make a dream sheet it dosen't necessarily mean they will get whats on it the navy will send them most likely where they need them most.

We had 13 divisions and 4 extra people. Everyone extra who was there got in and got seats. There are recruits who only have one or two people come and sadly some who don't have any come. That is why so many extras are able to get in.

Not calling you out, Lynne....HA! I totally agree that it is better to keep your recruit's name off the board. First initial is ok, but I referred to mine as "my son." Even though he is stationed now, I still don't call him by name on the boards. Remember, they are public boards. Just google a question about Navy boot camp, and most likely some of the Navy for Mom posts come up. So best to not offer too much info!
