Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Diana: I googled "PFA requirements for Navy" and a site came up, 2010 US Navy Physical Fitness Test Standards. The info you are looking for is in there.

sunnydg...lol..I'm definately not very smart! FMF is Field Medic...cant remember the other 'F' !! Corpsman for the Marines...not 'if' they see combat but 'when'... couldn't talk him into just being a HM and maybe..o, i dont know, a nice safe nurse like his mom...lol

Gkneemo, don't worry to much about him not being able to call. If he can he will purchase a phone card from their little store. We sent several phone cards and my son bought one.

Thanks for the answers about Subs. I see some got calls from 364. I know Alex's phone card was used up the first call, which was last week-- He had to call several numbers to finally reach me. I just got another phone card out to him. Prayers out to Jose and all our SR's Thanks to all moms and others on Navy for Moms, it truly is helping me keep my sanity. I'm thinking 11/5 can't come soon enough. I think the not knowing is what is getting me down.

Got another letter today. Josh said that they will have fire fighting next week. He said it is going good! Gas chamber is either this week or next. Couldn't tell from his letter if it was this week or next the way the sentence ran together lol
