Hi Lynne & the "356" family

Halee update!

Halee has been moved to the Separation Unit... She is walking without any crutches now--but needs continued therapy and once discharged--she can re-enlist after one year.

We still have to follow up on her GI issues--it is not her gallbladder--she appears to have a cholecocal cyst --which could be precancerous.  She will be following up at home on this.

She can call daily and her spirits are good.  She's already applied for a summer position & signing up for college in the fall.  She only needs two years to finish with a degree--so maybe she'll be reenlisting down the road for officer school!  Only time will tell!--I'll update again once I get her home!

Thanks again for all your prayers!

HI.  My soon to be Navy Corpsman is doing it!!!..passing all the tests and room inspections.  He calls me on Friday's...after his tests, and on Sunday's, and we actually run out of things to talk about.  It is so much nicer than not hearing his precious voice for weeks at a time like when he was in BC.  Now that he has some money in his bank account, he even sent me flowers for Valentines day!  He is so happy with his choice to join the Navy, and is looking forward to C- School in San Diego.

Fireman's mom...My son told me that reservist Corpsmen go to C-School on whichever side of the country they will be stationed for the Reserves.  It sounds like those east of the Mississippi go to LeJeune and those West go to Pendleton.  I can't verify that this is correct.

Kyle's mom - you are not alone.  It is hard on us moms.  I don't know when it gets better.  You have definately been very fortunate to see him so much since PIR.  It was hard for me at first, because after PIR mine went to South Carolina, then he came home for Christmas for almost two weeks, so things were better.  When he went back I was o.k. with it, more so than when he went to boot camp.  Now he's coming home again on March 5 (after A school graduation they get a 10 day leave and it's either use it then or run the risk of not getting it), then he'll have a hold time before the next school starts.  Once that one starts it will be a very long rest of the year for all of us.  We live in Phoenix so pretty difficult to get back there for graduations.  He has three schools to go through over the next year and a half.  It will probably get a little easier as he is away for longer periods of time.  At least we have great technology now a days, so we can hear their voices, send messages, etc., and get an immediate response.

Hang in there.

Kacey - that's too bad that your son had to wait so long to get started in his classes.  Sounds like he was maybe a week behind my son though, so not too bad. Surprising how they do all that cleaning and get trained so well with it, then they come home and the place is a mess.  i told my son at Christmas "don't be alarmed but I think a nuclear bomb went off in your bedroom".  He just laughed and didn't pick up one thing.  When he went back to SC his room was definately not clean and tidy.   He still doesn't know how long he'll be in T-track after A school.  Recent rumors are that it will only be 3 weeks, but he's also heard 2-3 months in the past few weeks, so don't know for sure.

Well, will look for you on Nuke moms.

Kat, just came back to Navy 4 moms since pir!  I did post on Nuke moms the other day...

My son seems to be behind he had to wait til after Thanksgiving to start A school, class was 2 big... he did a lot of cleaning and waiting.... he thinks he will graduate somewhere in may/june.. told us about mandatory leave...

Kacey - do you join us on Nuke moms?  Now I can't remember if I see you ont there.

Ya, my son has adjusted and seems to be adjusting.  Has his ups and downs.  The machinery class he has right now seems to be a lot better for him than some previous subjects, but he is maintaining about a 3.3 gpa, so that is good, solid, and respectible.  Today he actually posted on Facebook that it was an awesome day, yet last week he was very stressed.  Ups and downs but all good stuff.  We are going to visit him at the end of March during our daughter's spring break from high school. hope to spend the week there.  He hopefully will be on t-track then and have a little more time to come out and play.  He is actually coming home again on March 5, for 8 days.  They have leave after A school and must use it or lose it, so he will come home, then we will go there.  Crazy, but if not then we may not be able to see him for 6-8 months because of the intensity of the Power school.  Maybe he will be with your son for Power school.

Hi, Friends,

We finally got Brittany's Keel book today. It was really nice. I think maybe the reason it took so long was because she was in the last division (951). Anyway, hope you're all doing well.

Hi!  all.... funny how we are reconnecting after the holidays!  after PIR was Thanksgiving which we did by skype, and had our son at the table with us, then it was Christmas prep... and looking forward to a visit home by our sailor.... As our communications resumed with our sailors...  I have not been on here at all.  I realized the other day I really miss the friendships and information we share.

Kat, my son is also in A school in SC  he seems to be studying hard, but thriving...  I am so proud of his hard work.... We are planning a trip to visit him over the presidents day weekend...

Hope we all hear from Lynne soon!  it was great to meet her.
