I bet it is ....but it is a good time for you to take a little time for you and to simply appreciate the good job you have done for others and for your fiancee, so here is to you and a good restful peaceful night and perhaps a nice bubblebath full of relaxation...

Hey Everyone, I also haven't been on since before PIR so i've spent the morning catching up on all the posts I'm sorry to all of those wives, gf's, fiancees that are having a rough time right now i hope everything will turn out okay hang in there.
Well an update on my husband He's started school the 8th and he's been really busy but is enjoying it so far he has 3 other roomates and gets along with them really well. Since he won't be able to come home for thanksgiving I am going back to Chicago the 26th to spend the wknd w/him unfortinatly he has watch almost all day on thanksgiving. We also just found out he graduates his school the 16th of december and we only have 10 days to spend time with family for christmas and move to his duty station by the 27th so I've been really busy finding housing and transfering to the university out there and starting the packing process Everything feels like its moving so fast and on top of everything he is deploying within 10 days of us being out there It feels so surreal how fast our life is changing right now..... Hope you all get to see your sailors for the holidays!

Hey all, been a few days, I also have been catching up. To the wives, gf, fiancees, hang in there. So glad you have Lynee and others to offer you advice and support.
update on my sailor. He called yesterday, he has his flight booked. Yeah!! He wont be home til Dec. 27th. I guess part of the sailors get week of Christmas and the others week of New Years. When he arrived, the week of Christmas was filled up. But that is ok, will take what ever days I can get. He said he had booked his flight even though he OFFICIALLY hasnt been approved yet. lol But he bought the insurance for his flight, just in case he has to change or cancel.Told him he better not get into trouble or anything and not be approved to come, Hate to have his mom and his fiancee show up in Conn at the base to punish him ourselves. lol.... Hope all of you will be able to spend sometime of the holidays with your sailors.

Firemansmom, you made tears come to my eyes as well. Some people are just so nice. Every time someone says something mean or does something not so nice I try and think about the ones who go out of their way to let us know how much they appreciate what our sailors are doing for the,. :-)

Hi everyone!! I'v been looking back few days of posts trying to catch up...my goodness lots of drama :) Hang in there gf's,fiances, and wives...been the daughter, wife and momma of military men...not much that's easy about it. Know (as Lynne has already told you!) This is the place to vent, shed a tear and celebrate...no one understands like we do...your Navy family! My own sweet Megs has been told several times recently to "suck it up...it's just like he's at college...not like he's in the war or anything"...WHAT THE HECK????? I've about been ready to rip some heads off!! Stupid people!!! I told her..yep..we gotta do what we gotta do...but we don't have to LIKE it! We are Navy tough but that doesn't mean we don't miss them like crazy and worry ourselves silly...it simply means we can do whatever we have to, to keep the homefires burning and support them like crazed mother bears!!! So my response to those folks not walkin' in our shoes? HOOYAH!!!!!

A positive note to leave ya'll with...my daughter and I were in Target the other day...Sis wearing her "Some heros wear capes..mine wears combat boots and saves Marines..Proud Navy Sister" sweatshirt...a woman came up and asked if I had a son in the Navy...I was actually looking for a frame for his handsome picture!,,so I got it out and showed her...as tears rolled down her face she grabbed me in a hug and said..."please tell your boy that I pray for him and his buddies every single day! I dont even know them but I am so proud of all of them. God bless them all!" WOW...as you can imagine I was ballin' like a baby..good people out there that cancel out all the jerks...remember that, my friends! Love ya, sisters!

Tammy, you didn't sound pious at all...you sounded like the woman I hope I can be when my son brings home the "right" girl....okay, okay, the girl he thinks is right...lol!

Oh Oh Ashley you have to figure out is he a southerner so it is corn bread stuffing or a northerner and it is sage stuffing....oh dear the things you have to know...lol!! Buy a can of Libby's pumpkin pie mix...the directions are simple and it is pretty darn hard to screw up a turkey....lol

Tammie- yes mam I am that person=] she is a very sweet person and i've only talked to her on the phone once! But my husband and your son are buddies and seem to confide in each other which is very helpful! We will help out as much as possible! Only because i know how it feels TRUST ME! and thankfully i have monica that has helped me out oh so much! So i knew it was time for me to do the same =] I was talking to my husband about everything and what to do for thanks giving and since this will be our first thanksgiving as a family and alone I need to get find some recipes (only bc i was just going to make lasagna and i was informed tonight he wanted TURKEY , and stuffing and pumpkin pie! So if you know of anything special that would make your son and future daughter feel a little more at home i'd love to know=] and I fully agree with everything you say and i wish I was as lucky as amanda to have a mother in law like you!
