My understanding is not packages, I think they provide the paper to write letters on...I sent my son some self-addressed envelopes and he has used these, the questiontionaires show up as read only...you have to copy and paste into your own word processing program and then they work no problem Hope that helps!!

2nd mom: my son asked for newspaper and asked I put in an envelope and not a box. I think he'll have to open in front of an RDC but I guess they're allowed.

I sent my son 1 questionnaire in the beginning..something I made up..and no I have not gotten it back and I forgot to ask him about it? my son has been writing me on Navy stationary ..he told be he didn't need envelopes that he bought some. The only problem is they are the small ones and sometimes it is very full..

I would send what he asks for as he knows what he can get and use. If he gets in trouble its on him and at most the RDC will make him pull out some pages and can the rest. Just the notebook whith nothing in it or written in it. Just his name.
Things get less strict as they do better and later in training.

Alicia: The good part of the uniform cost is that they start getting a uniform allowance (yearly, I believe) so they can replace worn uniforms.

Robin: Hell Week is when they get up very early because it is such a busy week with all they have to do. I believe it is week 4 once they start their actual training (not including processing days).
