Hi ladies!! I know my name has a diff PIR ship/div then you have but I'm joining on here to support my daughters boyfriend. She left for bc on Aug 9... he left one month later on Sept 7. She is "due" to PIR on 10/1.. she is having an issue with shin splints, but hopefully that will pass!! I hopefully can also help you with any questions since I'm ahead of you in the game!! It's a long road but believe it or not, it has really gone by fast!! I still burst into tears at the weirdest times, but it's much easier!! Good luck to yall and I'll see yall around on here!!

Welcome Gabby...it is great to have you here...I can't believe I posted 20 minutes ago...and we have grown by 3 since then....lol People are receiving those form letters like wild fire Friday, Sat and today...we have added over 40 people in the last week so hang in there you will certainly meet folks from your division and I will hook you up with them as I see them...

Hey all just want to remind you that make sure you have less rather than more identifying information in your name about your recruit. If RDCs are reading this chat we don't want to give them fuel with which to pick out our recruits. Remember our recruits want to fly under the radar. I remember when my son was learning things that the recruiters thought would be "helpful" for him to memorize prior to BC they also told him just because you know it doesn't mean you have to show it, by raising your hand! The same applies for us...we'll figure out who belongs to who and I'll even develop a list and send out by message to folks if you want...but lets not flaunt it....lets protect our kids..especially those in special ops!!

Rick's Mom you are in the right place. This is the group. We all meet together and then we will probably set up some individual discussions too. I am going to send you a message.

Kat... our sons are in the same division. He flew out on 9/14 from Louisiana. His note to me was not as bad. Said their petty officer was funny but strict. Said the food was good and he had a decent nights sleep the night before. Haven't heard about the slackers but I'm putting a letter in the mail to him tonight! It was so good to hear from him. A weight has been lifted off my shoulders!! :)

Someone tell me how I find the group for Ship 07 Div 363?
Comment by Lynne on September 20, 2010 at 7:26pm
Our group is growing by leaps and bounds and I just want to welcome everyone. I am excited you are here and excited for our journey. I am glad some folks have had the opportunity to talk to their recruits. I know it makes me feel better to know things are progressing.

G-Man your son just had his 1-1 today, I wonder if all the divisions are on the same schedule. I was kind of thinking my son's division was 2-3 today. I know it seems long for many of you but my son's division was formed b4 he left and started out in St.Louis on Aug. 31 and got to BC on Sept 3rd. I got my form letter Thursday, the 16th. Thought I was going to croak by that time...lol!! His RDCs who were with them in St. Louis said their first phone calls would not come for six weeks, so I think those of you who are getting calls are very lucky.

Iowa, 8 and 4, how precious they must be...I am glad the questionaire helped and I bet they did get a kick out of the one on food. I am sure they worry about their dad and it will be good for them to hear from him!! I bet he will look forward to their letters.

Wow Kat...just got there the day I got the form letter...you are one lucky duck that it is going that fast...I bet they are really yelling at them...if they were trying to push them forward to get them in this PIR group...poor things....but they will glad in the end to finish quicker!!

Ts I think there is...last night I sent an individual note to everyone and wrote down div and ship stuff. I am going to compile and keep adding so I can begin to connect people. Then perhaps we can add a discussion for each division above. Don't ever worry about venting on this site. We are here to encourage, rejoice, commiserate, share our knowledge, or lack there of. The collective will definitely have more information than just one of us. I have received requests from those in the special ops divisions that we take the group private when it is feasible to give them more opportunity to chat. I think it would be helpful to safeguard their recruits in this manner as well as ours. If the RDC's are reading our posts we want to give them as little ammuninition against our recruits as possible.

We finally received the letter as well with the PIR date. Anyone out there with family in Ship 4 Div 824?
Comment by Kat (MM Nuke) on September 20, 2010 at 6:04pm
My son arrived at BC on Sept. 13. Just got the official letter today. He is Ship 07, Div. 363. Looks like they are in on the Nov. 5 PIR. Would like to meet others in the same ship and division as their letters come in.
At the bottom of the form letter he said "This place is insane. Definitely looking forward to getting out of here. My feet hurt. EVERYONE yells at us, but i expected that, so not a big shock. My division has 5 guys out of 80 who just can't get their act together and keep getting us all in trouble."
There's always someone in the mix who causes problems, ha. Hopefully, since this was written during the first week, things are getting better as they start to work together and get a clue.

Please Remember it may take 2-3 weeks once they have arrived at RTC for the Div. to form, especially if they are in a 800 or 900 Div. Those are the Spec Ops and Performing Divs. My son shipped out on 8 Sep 10 and just had his 1-1 day today, means they formed up as a Div. some Divs will be push Divs. and go thru training faster. The Recruiters cant give info they don't have, as in the final mailing address if the Div. hasn't formed yet. We are all in the same boat and our kids haven't got any mail yet either and are going thru a tougher time then we are. Have patience and faith we will all be in comms. with our kids soon and they are trained by the best instructors in the Navy.
