How's everyone doing. It's been a while since i've spoken to y'all. Hope everyone's doing well and your Sailors are doing well. my beautiful wife is currently deployed but i think about her everyday that goes by. my prayers are with you all.
stay safe and God Bless
Hi Everyone. My son was ship 7, div. 363. I haven't been on here forever. Been busy learning about the Nuke world. It is so nice to come back and read how everyone is doing and about those who are near finishing A school and getting orders to move on. How exciting. It's hard to believe they are this far now.
My son is in South Carolina still in A school. He finishes A school the first week of March, then is in T-track (or hold) for maybe 2-3 months before starting Power school, which is 24 weeks long. After power school there could be another hold of a month to maybe 6 months, we just don't know. Then he starts the third school which is Prototype and lasts another 24 weeks. IF he makes it all the way through, it will be at least another year and a half or more. He's doing well at Nuke school but it is extremely challenging. I hear they have tests in the next school called the Widow Makers, so I'm getting nervous. Hoping to go back and visit him at the end of March, during my daughter's spring break from high school.
AmeliaGrumma - I have thought about Halee quite often since we first heard about her hospitalization way back in October. I am so glad to get on here tonight and read how things are going with her. She has been through so much. I sure hope that she continues to heal, that nothing is wrong with her gallbladder, or at least that they are able to figure it out and get her better, and that she will be able to continue on and have that PIR before long.
Good luck to her and to you. Just so happy to hear that things are moving along nicely.
Hello everyone!! Its been LONG time since I've been on here...sure do miss the bc days of being several times a day! lol I had a facebook post from Lynne the other day...saw one on Megs yesterday so know she's still kickin'. Update on my guy...he's in week 7 of corpsman school--GL. He LOVES it! doing great and cant wait for the jump to "green"...he will be with the Marines for FMTB and will be eventually a FMF. He graduates 3/15 but hasnt gotten orders yet...he'll be off to Pendleton or LeJeune...either way warmer weather! The weather has been brutal...I cant imagine them walking all over that big base...BRRR. He's made some great friends and they've gone into the city several times to sightsee. Only disappointment is he is likely going to get delayed for FMTB as every male in the class is getting mandated to go whether they want to or not(active duty class up first then reservist with contracts...thats him)--before their next duty or C school. Some are cool with it but he says many are really bummed---no desire to be dirt pounders with the Marines--lots of scuttlebut on base about a build up for Korea. WOW...getting a little too real. Hope everyone's Sailors are settling into their new careers and all are well! Love and prayers to them all...
JessicaB,
I have Lynne's phone number; she gave it out to all of us at our M&G, in a little box with some hershey's kisses.
I tried to send you a message, but you have to friend me first.
I sure hope she is doing ok.
Jessica-looking for Lynne too!!! what a coincidence....please let me know if you hear any thing. i didn't know about the pneumonia.
oh and not to be too forgetful...Hello PIR 11-5-2010!!! a crazy wild ride isn't it...watching all your new Sailors getting onto their next adventure in their new Navy life!! hello from Pensacola Moms !!!
Thanks so much for the update on Hallee. I was just thinking about her yesterday and wondering how she is doing. Will continue to pray for her and you.
It's been a while. Holidays weren't to bad.
Halee update @ RTC---STILL THERE! She has now spent her b-day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Years at boot camp when she should have PIR'd on 11/5/10.
Halee had her cast removed after 8 weeks--finally! She now has a walking boot but still has to use crutches. Follows up with the ortho dr. @ the end of the month.
Also following up on her gallbladder issues--they sent her to Milwaukee for an ERCP with a GI specialist! She tolerated everything well & the Dr. himself called me afterwards with her status. She went back to RTC that same night. she follows up with him again in February.
She received many cards over the holidays--a from the classroom of kids too! Thank you everyone! It made everyones day--they shared them with everyone to read! She sent them all home to me--I'm going to put them all in a scrapbook for her.
She was given the Yeoman book to study--so no matter what happens--she's definitely being groomed for duty!
She see's & hears a lot of people getting Med-out and it worries her--but she knows that her path will lead her to where she belongs.
Just wanted to thank everyone again for their prayers & cards to Halee. She truly appreciated them as did I.
Her roommate from the VA & a couple other girls that have joined them all for lack of a better word--hang out together. They all do therapy at different times and Halee really can't wait to loose the crutches!
With Halee @ RTC, and my eldest daughter traveling to Singapore (hubby's work) with my granddaughter Amelia--they arrived safely. So I spend my time SKYPING in the evening with them--they are 13 hours ahead of me!
But wanted to say thank you ladies --because you helped me all through a really tough time and words don't say enough!
Will post again when I know anything knew about her status --hopefully it'll be her moving along to A-school! :-)
Tracy
*******I finally received her pictures as you can see... HOWEVER! Because it was so long before she could get her photo's paid for and sent out--she didn't get the DVD that she PAID for!
If anyone could make me a copy of the Graduation DVD--I would love to have it for her as a surprise. She has many of her division as friends on her Facebook page--and I keep them updated on her status as well.
THANK YOU!
