You don't see them till graduation. Many Navy for Mom groups choose to meet somewhere for dinner the night before. I think that would be fun.

as far as taking things private..I think we could just e-mail friends that we have accepted..or invited.. don't know..I for one do think things should be watched here..and have sent private e-mail messages to friends I have accepted..guess we shouldn't be paranoid but cautious..my address for my son was a little different than what was posted here..so just saying always good to double check everything. I got form letter yesterday as well and was certainly good to get :) Have a good day!!

I lived right off of 35 on Berry St near TCU campus...oh how i miss it. We had a few friends who moved to Keller because they liked the school district better and we had family in Haslet.

Does anyone know or have a link to what exactly will happen graduation weekend? We're trying to figure out if there is a family day Thursday or will we not see him til graduation? I know he'll be a grad and go, so after graduation he'll probably have to pack his stuff and move to school, then we'll see him. Need to start planning when to arrive and don't want to miss out on something.

My daughter never answered my question until I sent a questionnaire lol. I also reworked the ones I found on here and personalized it a bit. It was funny because the first few questions were: What is your name sailor? What is your rank? What is your serial number? and then I went on to ask a lot more questions. At the end it said I hope you only answered the first 3 questions. Hasn't anyone ever told you to only give you "Name, Rank, & Serial Number"? She loved it. And so did her friends. I wrote letters and sent questionnaires to her friends who were getting little to no mail. It is such an important part of surviving boot camp. I am sure they feel alone there even with thousands of people around. I can't imagine being there with no one sending letters and no one to write to. I wrote a letter introducing myself and giving lots of encouragement and sent it with one of my daughters letters and had her pass it on with a self-addressed stamped envelope to a friend who had not received any mail. She passed it on to someone and sent me names of 2 others to write to. And they wrote back. It was so nice to hear from them.

Tcarp I just got a form letter, but there was a nice note from my recruit at the bottom.

2ndmomtohim - sorry to just get back! I think most of your questions have already been answered! But you did have the correct address and the PIR date in the letter was 11/5! Also in the letter, there is a brochure with hotels in the area, a small map, and how far each hotel is from Great Lakes.
Lynn - would love to see the questionnaires! I have asked so many questions in my sons letters, I'm sure he won't be able to answer all!
